Hello,I've been trying a portable version of Syncdocs for a while and have some difficulties with sync - not all the files are being synchronized properly (when I add new files to my Drive they are sometimes not downloaded to the laptop with portable Syncdocs app running (no matter what I try)). I wonder if this could be due to the fact the root folder being synchronized cantains over 3.000 files and I run an unregistered copy of the Syncdocs app at the moment. Some files get downloaded but others don't (it seems like the app doesn't get correct info from Google about all the files changed/created).I'm considering buying your application (because it is currently the only software I'm aware of capable of syncing Google Drive data from within a portable application) but I'd like to know in advance:- is a download of a portable version included when I purchase the full, registered version? (note, I don't need the app on an USB stick, I just need to run it on a system I don't have rights to install any new software...)- do you think the sync problems I briefly described above would be solved by running the full, registered version of SyncDocs?Thank you.Regards,Radek. Link to Google Drive Quota limitations, and none of those situations seem to apply to me. They are mostly talking about sharing. Only a small number of my files are shared. How do we proceed to fix the problem? I do not get truncated files when I download them directly from Google Drive. It's only when Syncdocs does it.What steps should I take to correct the corrupt local files? If I delete them, will Suncdocs delete the corresponding files on Google Drive? That's NOT what I want to happen, since the files on Google Drive are not corrupt. If I replace the local files with the non-corrupt versions directly from my camera, how will Syncdocs react? Will it upload them to Google Drive as duplicates?Revisiting the file integrity issue, I'd like to suggest that you modify Syncdocs to check file sizes after the sync operation to make sure they match. Apparently comparing the hashes is not sufficient. Posted 9 years ago # If you delete the corrupt local files with Syncdocs not running, version 6 will download and integrity check the downloaded versions. This may re-trigger your download quota issue with mp4 files with Google, though. I would recommend you contact them and ask why they have blacklisted you.On a more technical note:Downloads of all files are checked download API errors, then for size and then for hash checking. When Google has restricted your media download quota, they did not fail the download via the API, which is different to all other download failures. They may have done this deliberately to thwart users using Google Drive as a file sharing (piracy) hub, or to make media users use the YouTube product, and not Drive. From Syncdocs version 6 and above, Syncdocs checks all files for download integrity, whether Google has passed or failed the API download.I hope this explanation helps. Posted 9 years ago # Why do you say I've been blacklisted? I can download files fine directly from Google Drive. It's only when Syncdocs downloads them that it puts corrupt files in my local drive! You say "Downloads of all files are checked download API errors, then for size and then for hash checking." How can that be possible when the source file has a size that is many MB different than the version that Syncdocs deposits in my local drive? It doesn't seem like we are making progress toward a solution. Is the answer simply that anyone with a large Google Drive data set should not consider Syncdocs to be a viable syncing program? Please give me some constructive suggestions that I can use to solve this problem. My phone (Galaxy S5) automatically uploads photos and videos to Google Drive. The mp4 files it puts there play fine in Google Drive and also play fine when downloaded to my computer. However, all of the mp4 files that are synced by Syncdocs to my local folder are unplayable.I get the message "This item's file format may be unsupported, the file extension may be incorrect, or the file may be corrupted." This happens in Windows "movies and TV" app. When I try to open it in Adobe Premiere Pro, I get "The file cannot be opened because of a header error."If I download the file directly from Google Drive, it opens and plays fine in both of these applications. What can I do to fix this? Posted 9 years ago # Thank you for the detailed description. It might be that you are using an old version of Syncdocs - Google has changed some things on their servers recently, and we have updated Syncdocs. What version of Syncdocs are you using? You can check in the About item in the Syncdocs Preferences menu. Posted 9 years ago # Email --> I'm using 6.150 Posted 9 years ago # I think I've found a clue. Some of the mp4's synced by Syncdocs to my local computer do play fine. But they are all under about 26 to 28 MB in size. All of the others that don't play are bigger than that on Google Drive, but only show up with 26 to 28 MB in size on my local computer. I can download the large files directly from Google Drive to my local computer, and they play fine and have the larger file size. Apparently, something is aborting the download of large files done by Syncdocs and truncating the files. More clues:All of the truncated files have dates later then April, 2015. Prior to that, Syncdocs was able to sync large files (>27MB) successfully to my local computer. Also, large files placed into my local Google Drive folder are successfully uploaded to Google Drive. It's just the downloaded large files that get truncated. Posted 9 years ago # Please send me your Syncdocs log to contact-syncdocs@syncdocs.com. . You can get it by right clicking on the Syncdocs icon, selecting "Preferences", then "Advanced" and then "View Log".(if you do not see an "Advanced" tab, click on "Advanced options..." button to see it)My suspicion is that you or someone on your IP range, has triggered Google's abuse detection system, which is to stop Google Drive from turning into a file or movie sharing site. The log will show us this. The newest Syncdocs has a bypass for this abuse detection, and detects it better, too. If youDownload tải Syncdocs - Download.com.vn

Replace wyUpdate. You can try to force wyUpdate to fix itself by running it from Explorer. It will be located in the Syncdocs program folder, something like c:\Users\your_name\appdata\Local\Programs\Syncdocs\wyupdate.exe Posted 12 years ago # Sorry Andrew, that folder does not exist. WyUpdate and the Syncdocs programs are located on my system under the Program Files (x86) folder. Perhaps that is because I have installed it for all users instead of just the current user. What do you mean by forcing WyUpdate to fix itself? As I said before, I can run it independently from the program folder. Posted 12 years ago # By forcing wyUpdate to run he means executing it, which you have already tried. Do you see the same error message from it when you do this?No update from wyUpdate on their software's message yet. Two other things to try to get around the wyUpdate message:1. Try running Syncdocs as Admin, by right clicking on it, and selecting "Run as Administrator"2. Try installing the portable version of Syncdocs from our download page. Posted 12 years ago # WyUpdate does not give an error when I run it independently. I have tried running it as admin, by right-clicking. I even found a shortcut in the program folder for running as admin. The last thing to try is the portable version. Thanks for the suggestion. Magical rainbow ponies --> Just like this post: have always had problems with WYUPDATE crashing. Oddly enough, I run SD on 3 computers, two with Vista x64, and one with Seven x86. Only 1 of the Vista computers has this problem. The other Vista computer and the Seven computer are fine.I have updated manually a few times, most recently today. Still not working! Posted 12 years ago # Can you tell us more details about what wyUpdate says when it crashes. What error message does it show? Posted 12 years ago # Hi Andrew. It's a very generic Windows message that the program has crashed. Exact words: The application failed to initialize properly (0x000007b). Click OK to terminate the application. Posted 12 years ago # OK, thanks - we'll contact the makers of wyUpdate and ask them. Posted 12 years ago # Hi Andrew,Any news on this please? Posted 12 years ago # Hi Alex,I'll chase this up for you... Posted 12 years ago # Any further update please? Posted 12 years ago # No solution from the makers of wyUpdate. Are you still seeing the 0x000007b error? I'll contact them again. In the meantime, you can do a manual update:Just download the new version and install it over the old one. Posted 12 years ago # I have had to manually update every since using Syncdocs. I have just updated, but I am still having the same problem with wyUpdate. Does nobody understand how it works? Posted 12 years ago # Are you still seeing the 0x0000007b error from wyUpdate? Posted 12 years ago # Yes, same error. Posted 12 years ago # I have just found that if I run wyUpdate directly from the program folder, it works, and reports Syncdocs as being up-to-date.This, however, is not a solution, because every time I boot up or wake up my computer, wyUpdate crashes. Posted 12 years ago # Is there a way that I can disable Syncdocs for launching wyUpdate and checking for updates? Posted 12 years ago # Yes, in the Syncdocs Preferences, in the the "General" Tab, check the option that says"Ask me before updating program"However, as I don't know what the cause of your problem is inside wyUpdate, this might not help. Posted 12 years ago # I am aware of that option. But it appears that Syncdocs still attempts to use wyUpdate every time Syncdocs is opened, the computer rebooted, or woken from sleep. Can I turn off wyUpdate on startup? Posted 12 years ago # Syncdocs needs to load wyUpdate at startup, so right now there is no way to turn it off. We'll add it in future versions, and in the longer term. Syncdocs, free and safe download. Syncdocs latest version: Syncdocs: Simplifying Google Docs Integration on Windows. Then just Start the Sync.If the data still exist locally and you want an exact copy of Google docs, then wipe it locally first.4. Restoring everything on a new PCJust install Syncdocs on it. Restoring a particular versionClick on the file in Google Drive then from the list of versions select the one with the date and time you want. More Backup OptionsOptional: Do not convert files to Google Docs formatIf you are just backing up to Google Docs, then you probably wish to preserve the original document formatting, so don’t convert to Google Docs.Optional: Back up once a dayNormally Syncdocs backs up changes to your files when you save them. You can also set a scheduled backup.Syncdocs lets you back up changed files once a day to Google. Check the option below and select the time you want to backup to start.Note that your PC needs to be turned on at the backup time, and Syncdocs needs to be running in the taskbar.Limitations of Syncdocs BackupSystem VolumesSyncdocs is designed to back up data files, but not your operating system.Syncdocs cannot backup entire volumes, so you can’t use it to backup your entire C: drive or ‘Windows’ directory. For this you need a drive imaging tool like Acronis True Image or Symantec Ghost.Locked FilesSyncdocs also currently cannot backup locked files. These are typically Windows registry files, active Outlook PST files or in-use Microsoft SQL databases.Comments? Suggestions? Please let us know what you think.Comments
