This approach makes Affinity's products more affordable and accessible to professionals and hobbyists alike. Compared to industry standards, Affinity's pricing is competitive, offering high-quality creative software at a lower cost than many of its competitors. Affinity Competitors Affinity's primary competitors include: Adobe Creative Cloud: A suite of creative applications, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, offered through a subscription-based model. Adobe's products are industry standards, but their subscription fees can be costly for individuals and small businesses. Sketch: A digital design tool focused on user interface and user experience design, offered through a subscription-based model. Sketch is popular among UI/UX designers but lacks the comprehensive features of Affinity Designer. GIMP: A free and open-source raster graphics editor, often considered a more affordable alternative to Adobe Photoshop. While GIMP offers many features, it lacks the professional-grade tools and seamless integration of Affinity Photo. Affinity differentiates itself from competitors through its subscription-free model, offering users a more affordable and accessible way to access high-quality creative software. While Adobe Creative Cloud is a more comprehensive suite, its subscription fees can be prohibitive for many users. Sketch and GIMP, on the other hand, offer more specialized tools, but lack the breadth of features and seamless integration of Affinity's products. Affinity Reviews and Sentiment Affinity has received overwhelmingly positive reviews from users and critics

Serif does need to consider a DAM to go with their other products. Some have asked "why bother when there are other tools out there?" Because those tools do not support the native Affinity formats very well (or at all). I've been using digiKam for years just to manage my photos, but it can't help me with .afphoto format files. I shoot Olympus .ORF raw and also have a lot of .DNG... which are great. But as soon as I develop in Affinity and maybe have layers involved I need to save .afphoto and we're lacking tools to manage those files. I suppose I could output to .PSD, but Affinity seems to warn about the possibility of issues doing that and recommend using the applications native format. Serif wants us to use their formats? Then please provide the tools needed to manage them properly. Don't get me wrong... I'm SUPER HAPPY with Affinty Photo and Designer... but could really use a tool to help manage photos AND artwork created with these tools. Don't get me started on thumbnails. Heck, half the time Windows 10 can't even display thumbnails for .afphoto (it used to... I don't know if a recent Windows Update screwed that up or what?) There needs to be a simple way to repair this functionality, but I haven't found it yet. Glad I downloaded the demo before making a purchase. I was excited to upgrade... but as soon as I see an installer that doesn't let the user designate the install directory it puts me on RED ALERT. I really don't think it's up to the developer to decide where I put my files. I try to keep the system drive clear of applications and the fact that they are buying into the Windows cool-aid App philosophy is troubling. Not buying today as I had planned. Very disappointing. Please make a standard .exe installation package with the ability to choose your install directory. You might try opening the .MSIX file in something like 7-ZIP and extracting the whole thing to a directory. My Affinity Photo 1 files are in D:\Program Files\Affinity\Photo. I extracted the files from the .MSIX to D:\Program Files\Affinity\Photo2. So far it's OK running from D:\Program Files\Affinity\Photo2\App\Photo.exe. It's using my NIK collection (old ones) plugins just fine and is also using the current Topaz demo plugins with no complaint. I was also able to open a file from Raw Therapee 5.8 via the 'Edit current image in external editor' option by pointing to the D:\Program Files\Affinity\Photo2\App\Photo.exe in the Preferences|External Editor|Custom command line option. Also opened an image for editing from Exposure X5. Just shouldn't have to resort to manual install hacks to get things where you want them. Just as a follow up... I did pick up Affinity Photo and I've been using it a bit with the Huion WH1409 and I've not experienced any issues with using the tablet. Sean, Thanks for the reply. Sorry I wasn't able to get back to you in a
