Is it just me (Win7x64 Pro SP1 and XP PRO SP3) — or did Avast’s AdBlocker extension “disappear” from [and thereby stop working in] today’s Firefox 21 update??? system May 14, 2013, 10:24pm 2 …me too Win Vista 64bit/SP2/Avast Free/FF 21.0 Same here . . . Updated Firefox to version 21.0 and no more AdBlocker . . . I just updated FF to Version 21 but I don’t use Avast’s AdBlocker. I use AB+, an extension in FF. system May 15, 2013, 12:03am 5 Software Updater also reports Mozilla Firefox’s new version as v 20.0.1 - (Guess everything takes time to be updated.)I checked thinking FX v 21.0 had made a change to their “Options” folder, but do not see anything about Avast! Ad Blocker being removed. Avast! Ad Blocker always had appeared as a Firefox “Add-On” prior to FX v 21.0Ron - W3FSY system May 15, 2013, 12:07am 6 This is completely normal behavior. Give them time to update. Firefox just go updated today. You can use ABP instead anyways. It also has more features and customizations. Norton fans are always complaining when the Norton toolbar does not work as soon as new version of there browser comes out. A week later its fixed. Simion May 15, 2013, 12:20am 7 No, it’s not. Firefox 21.0 Beta has been out for six weeks now, the dev builds even longer. Besides, why do my other 14 extensions work if this is normal? ??? system May 15, 2013, 12:30am 8 It is normal. Check the Symantec forums. Check Kaspersky forums. Why make it such an issue when you can just use Ad Block Plus extension on its own. The minute a new version of Firefox or Chrome comes does not mean that Avast has to be on top of it. Gezzz. I August 24, 2012, 8:15am 1 I have updated to 7.0.1466 but the Outlook Add In is STILL not working. I am using OutlookI can enable it manually in Outlook AddIn manager and it works for that session. Howeverwhen I close and re open Outlook the add in is not being loaded.I have followed all of the advice in previous posts including reinstalling, checking theregistry entries etc.I have tried to register asOutExt.dll manually with no success.Last night after 3 hours of battling I used aswclear.exe and re installed Avast completely.Still no joy. This very frustrating. Does anyone have a solution that actually works? This is happening on all our machines. We are using Windows 7 Pro 32bit and Outlook 2010. Oneis a dual processor another a quad processor. No other antivirus software is being used.John Hi ambrit,we have already discussed this issue here should fix your problem.Petr system August 24, 2012, 2:33pm 3 THANK YOU! Can I just say I have been contacting support about this and they have ignored my POLITE posts. Also why do WE have to poke about the registry to fix this?Sorry but support these days seems very poor indeed IMHO.John DavidR August 24, 2012, 2:48pm 4 If you use the support ticket thing, each time that you bump it but responding it drops down the chronological order. So I don’t know if that is the issue. But I would say the forums get a much faster response, more people (avast users) eager to help 24/7, even though an avast team member answered this topic. system August 25, 2012, 9:34am 5 Afraid not. Ticket been there for 2 months unanswered. Seems the way of the world these days - Forums as opposed to direct support.I would rather personally support my clients but there you go. Anyway all working after 4 months of hassle. Thanks to the community. Not so sure about Avast! DavidR August 25, 2012, 11:25am 6 Sorry, looks like it dropped through a hole in the system. This is why I have always preferred a forum as such (no matter whose) rather than and auto ticketing system for any question I might have. Some forums however, are not much better, fortunately the avast forum is usually very quick to respond. system August 26, 2012, 8:14am 7 Not at all. Been in contact with Tomas Princ personally and even he ignores emails. So you cannot blame the ticketing system. There is an inherent rudeness in the support section. Sorry but it needs to be addressed to provide any credibility and encourage me to renew my multiple licenses in 2 weeks.

A small suggestion for Avast! forums - Avast WEBforum

February 27, 2025, 1:55pm 1 The title says it all. In the launcher Setting there is not such an info. Anyone with no reply in this matter? Are the Forums DEAD? DavidR February 27, 2025, 4:36pm 3 Ordinarily you will get a reminder/s in the User Interface (UI) to renew the Free version about as this gets close, about 2 weeks before the date.It isn’t complex, but I can’t recall mine, but I have only been using Avast Free for a little over 20 years. I recieved this message while i updated the Virus Data “Your Free Account expires in 12 days” do you want to continue? It gave me 2 choices to go Premium and “Continue with Free”. In previus versions the NEW expire date apeared in the Launcher UI but as you can see in the yellow boxes this is not available anymoreNORE this info is available in my Account’s details. I posted in facebook in this page Avast Software I hope its VALID because they insisted me to sign up to Watch Up application to get the info i want. I was afraid of a fraud and that is why i insist posting in the Forums. DavidR February 27, 2025, 5:28pm 5 Personally, I believe the link to Facebook is to promote Avast paid products (given you are using Avast Free) in the hope you would take up the offer. So I wouldn’t pursue that any further.Do you not know roughly when your annual Avast Free Antivirus renewal is ?It really isn’t anything to worry about as you get close to that date you will get reminders. So even if my accceptance to the message that my free account expires in 12 days (that i selected I continue with Free) has not been in place in few days i will have a new warning to select either to continue in Free or go for Premium? In oldest versions of the Launcher though EVEN the Free Acount time was visible. Thank you for your replies. DavidR February 27, 2025, 9:16pm 7 It has been my experience that when I get my notification to renew Avast Free I have done it once. That however doesn’t stop Avast offering a paid option and from memory there is no graceful way of saying No Thanks. I either use the X button at the top right of the WindowOrTo close an active window using the keyboard, press Alt + F4 simultaneously; this is the standard keyboard shortcut for closing the currently active window on most operating systems.

Things when browsing the web. THat combined with the fact that I am a student developer, I can’t have Avast! (or any other AV) removing my assignments. (And yes, it’s happened before. And yes, I could force Avast! to exclude the compilers, and working directories I use; but again, it’s just something I don’t need.)Think of security as a phone really. Some people need the power behind the latest and greatest (iPhone X or Galaxy S8 or something), some people only need the ability to text (Samsung Galaxy Ace… or iPhone 4). I just happen not to require the security that I stick on my grandmothers computer :-). It’s nothing to be ashamed or even impressed by, more just a fact of life.As for why I come back every once in a while to pop in, just because I don’t use an AV, doesn’t mean that I don’t believe in Security. My “security” just comes in a different form. However, couple years ago when I dabbled in malware testing and whatnot, I was active on the MBAM forums as well as the G2G forums. (G2G belongs to a network known as UNITE. Many of the malware/virus experts you see here were trained by them.) You’ll also note that many of the people who pop in here, aren’t always exclusive here. They float around helping people out. Pondus is also active, or at least was active elsewhere.. How to access the Avast Forum

Select Contact Help to open Avast's Support site. Here, you can find a FAQ, ask for help in the forums and call a customer-support line that will provide free advice for installing, configuring, updating and removing Avast.MORE: How to Buy Antivirus SoftwareIf you need more help than that, Avast offers paid support starting at $79 for any call that isn't related to removing a virus or malware, or at $119 per call for virus-related calls. For more support, you can spend $199 for a year of unlimited service, or $10 per month plus a $99 setup fee.Bottom lineAvast's email scanning gives it an edge over competing Mac antivirus products. It needs such an advantage when the rest of its package is such a mixed bag.Not only does Avast's software continually push you to spend money on additional services (unlikely if you've already chosen to use free antivirus software), but its malware detection rates aren't great overall. If you're going to pay, you should instead choose Bitdefender Antivirus for Mac, which gives you excellent protection and a low system impact for $40 a year. If you'd rather not pay, then Avast is the best free option, but only because Sophos Home, which has a more full-featured free tier, has undetermined malware-protection abilities on Macs.Posted by2 years agoArchivedI see this thread talk something about Avast Cleanup in this sub for long time ago but I can't find any thread discuss it is good or bad software. I think someone in /r/Techsupport can give me some advice.I'm using Avast(free version) for anti-virus program. It scan and report me that my win7 computer have performance issues. I try use it fix that for me but it look like i need to pay for subscription to use Avast Cleanup.I'm interesting in System Setting feature from Avast
