Despite each team’s records, Baltimore is favored to win in the NFL Week 4 matchup. The Sunday Night Football game kicks off from M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore at 8:20 p.m. ET.Bills vs. Ravens predictionsBuffalo’s well-balanced offense has been the key to the hot start. While the Bills have an edge over the Ravens’ league-worst passing defense, Baltimore has been terrific at stopping the run.If the Bills’ rushing attack isn’t as efficient as normal, I don’t trust Buffalo’s pass catchers to handle an increased workload. WR Khalil Shakir has been QB Josh Allen’s favorite target, and no other pass catcher has more than 100 yards.Second-year TE Dalton Kincaid and rookie WR Keon Coleman are candidates to break out, but I haven’t seen enough from either player to trust they can carry the torch if Shakir has a down game.If Allen, who sits atop the NFL MVP odds, is forced to throw more passes than usual, I’m predicting a Ravens defender will get their hands on at least one pass and give Allen his first interception of the year.Buffalo’s defense hasn’t been strong against the run, meaning monster performances could be in the works for Ravens QB Lamar Jackson and RB Derrick Henry. Baltimore should be ready to pound the rock after rushing for 274 yards and three touchdowns in a Week 3 win over the Cowboys.NFL Week 4 Bills vs. Ravens oddsThe point spread opened at Bills +3 and enough wagers came in on Buffalo to shift the odds to Bills +2.5. The Baltimore Ravens were knocked out of the NFL Playoffs in the Divisional Round by the Buffalo Bills 27-25. Their attention turns to the offseason as they address key needs during free agency and the 2025 NFL Draft. Let’s look at their pending free agents, potential cuts, and team needs.Baltimore Ravens Free Agents(OT Ronnie Stanley is a free agent. Photo: Denny Medley-Imagn Images)Check out a list of free agents for the Ravens and what type of free agent they are. UFA is an unrestricted free agent which means they can sign with any team once free agency begins. An RFA is a restricted free agent that gives the Ravens the chance to match an offer if they want to or submit a qualifying offer to a player. ERFA is an exclusive rights-free agent. These are players who have been in the league less than three seasons and have limited negotiating rights.PlayerPos.TypeAgeAr’Darius WashingtonSRFA26Ben ClevelandRGUFA27Brandon StephensCBUFA28Brent UrbanIDLUFA34Chris BoardLBUFA30Christian MatthewCBRFA29Deonte HartyWRUFA28Diontae JohnsonWRUFA29Josh JohnsonQBUFA39Josh JonesLTUFA28Kristian WelchFBUFA27Malik HarrisonLBUFA27Nelson AgholorWRVoid32Owen WrightRBERFA26Patrick MekariLTUFA28Patrick RicardFBUFA31Qadir IsmailWRSFA25Ronnie StanleyLTVoid31Steven SimsWRUFA28Trayvon MullenCBUFA28Tre’Davious WhiteCBUFA30Tylan WallaceWRUFA26Score NFL Gear from Fanatics!Ravens Cut Candidates(The Ravens could release Kyle Van Noy. Photo: Troy Taormina-Imagn Images)It has been reported that the Ravens are expected to release safety Marcus Williams when free agency begins but he isn’t the only veteran in trouble in Baltimore. Cornerback TE Mark Andrews ($11M), DE Kyle Van Noy ($6.1M), and CB Arthur Maulet ($2.2) are also in the conversation to help the Ravens pick up some cap savings heading into free agency.Van Noy enjoyed a solid season with 12.5 sacks in 2024 but he is 34 years old and he would be just $1.6 million in dead money if the Ravens were to move on from him. A lot of buzz surrounds Mark Andrews after his struggles in 2024.Team Needs (OT, OG, S, WR)When it comes to team needs, the Ravens need a boost on their offensive line (especially on the left side) and in the secondary at safety. They shuffled up their safety situation midseason and will be looking to add more value there for the 2025 season. A playmaking free safety would be a great fit to team up with Kyle Hamilton who settled into a traditional deep safety role.Left tackle Ronnie Stanley and left guard Patrick Mekari are pending free agents which means Baltimore will have to decide on how much to spend to bring them back. At wide receiver, they got good production out of Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman but the unit needs more depth. Nelson Agholor and Tylan Wallace are both free agents so the Ravens will be looking to add more options for Lamar Jackson on the outside.
A home loss on Christmas to the Las Vegas Raiders — on the same day Baltimore made a statement with a win at San Francisco — seemed to indicate that the Chiefs’ days atop the AFC were numbered. Not so fast.Playing on the road in the playoffs for the first time with Mahomes, the Chiefs beat Buffalo and Baltimore in back-to-back weeks to win the conference.“I’ve never doubted, no,” coach Andy Reid said. “That’s not how we roll.”The Chiefs led 17-7 at halftime, and Justin Tucker’s 43-yard field goal with 2:34 to play was the only scoring of the second half. Baltimore kicked deep after that, and on third-and-9, Mahomes connected with Valdes-Scantling, who held on and knew exactly what that catch meant.“We’re going to the Super Bowl,” he said. “That was it. I knew we needed one first down to get us to the goal, and they trusted me to go get one.”Mahomes went 30 of 39 for 241 yards and a touchdown.Jackson could win his second MVP after leading Baltimore to the league’s best record and point differential during the regular season, but the Ravens allowed touchdowns on the first two Kansas City possessions and appeared a bit panicky at times after that.Baltimore (14-5) made undisciplined mistakes all game, while Kansas City looked the part of the team making its sixth straight appearance in the conference title game. With the Ravens down by 10 in the third quarter, rookie Zay Flowers caught a 54-yard pass to the Kansas City 10 — then was flagged for taunting after the play. Moments later, he fumbled near the goal line and the Ravens ended up with no points. That was one of several frustrating moments for Baltimore fans, whose city was hosting an AFC championship game for the first time since January 1971, when the Colts beat the Oakland Raiders.Jackson went 20 of 37 for 272 yards and a touchdown, but Baltimore never really exploited its perceived advantage on the ground. Averaging an NFL-worst 176 yards per game with Bryce Young at QB, the Panthers are averaging the fifth-most YPG (406) with Dalton.Bold prediction: Williams has his first game with a QBR of more than 60. Why? Williams has yet to get post a game over 40, and Carolina's pass defense should make life easier, ranking 29th in EPA allowed per opponent dropback. -- WalderInjuries: Panthers | BearsFantasy X factor: Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard. Hubbard has racked up 22 or more touches and 22 or more fantasy points in two straight games. He also faces a Bears defense that has allowed the 10th-most fantasy points per game to running backs. Notable performances include 18.4 points from Tony Pollard, 26.5 from Jonathan Taylor and 20.4 from Kyren Williams. With this matchup, Hubbard could be in for another big day. In the Ravens' four wins over QB Joe Burrow, Baltimore has held Cincinnati's wide receivers to an average of 119.7 yards. In the Ravens' three losses to Burrow, Baltimore allowed the Bengals' wide receivers to average 287.3 yards. -- Jamison HensleyBengals storyline to watch: This matchup could be dictated by what happened in the offseason. Cincinnati opted to get an interior defensive lineman who was more adept at pass rushing (Sheldon Rankins) than run stopping (DJ Reader). Baltimore has two players, QB Lamar Jackson and new RB Derrick Henry, who are in the top four in the league in rushing yards before first contact, per ESPN Research. -- Ben BabyStat to know: The Baltimore secondary has allowed a league-high 20 receptions of 20-plus yards.Bold prediction: Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers bounces back from a cold couple of weeks with a 100-plus-yard receiving performance. Flowers ranks seventh in open score so far, so he should have plenty of targets coming his way. -- WalderInjuries: Ravens | BengalsFantasy X factor: Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins. He might not get as much attention as Ja'Marr Chase, but he led the team with 10 targets in Week 4. He has a favorable matchup this week against a Ravens defense that allows the eighth-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers. Also, Higgins has averaged 12.0 fantasy points per game in regular-season games with Burrow when he gets six or more targets. See Week 5 rankings. -- MoodyBetting nugget: The Bengals were 1-5 ATS. Awarded to the Ravens until after the Super Bowl, so he won't be eligible to play in the rest of the postseason. Johnson has had quite the wild ride this year, starting the year with the Carolina Panthers before being dealt to Baltimore at the trade deadline. After being suspended for conduct detrimental to the team and catching only one of five targets for six yards in four games with the Ravens, he was released and picked up by the Texans. He caught three of five targets for 24 yards in his two games with Houston before being waived, and now he's back in Baltimore. The 28-year-old will be an unrestricted free agent in March, so there's a good chance he won't open the 2025 season with the Ravens.
