Want to start developing/porting Qt apps to Blackberry Playbook but don't want to dive into Qt libraries compilation? If yes then this article is for you, it lets you jump directly to developing Qt app skipping tedious process of compiling Qt libraries first. We'll be speaking here only about creating Qt application to be deployed to Blackberry Playbook Simulator (Qt library below is compiled for x86 architecture).1. Prepare your MS Windows system1.2. Create a folder C:\qt-x86-lib (you can create a folder wherever you want, this path will be used in this article)1.3. Download Qt library from and save it into C:\qt-x86-lib\ folder created in 1.2. This is a set of Qt libraries precompiled for x86 platform and suitable only for Simulator. This is not something that is being built nightly but it's fresh above and proved to work. Probably with time if there is enough interest in the project I'll setup something more serious to follow current Qt development repository.1.4. Unpack qt-x86-lib.tgz archive using any archivator that understands .tgz format (my favorite one is 7zip). You should get C:\qt-x86-lib\stage\... and lots of files/folders underneath. That's basically it, now you can start develop Qt app.2. Create QTHelloWorld project in Momentics IDEStart Momentics IDE.Click File->New->BlackBerry Tablet OS C/C++ Project and in Project Name: specify QTHelloWorld, hit Next and Basic Setting will open.Here:- check Language: C++- Build Style: Managed build- Project Type: Application-Empty ApplicationClick Next and Build Configurations will open, we want Simulator-Debug here. Click Finish. At this point we have an empty project with bar-descriptor

Forum BlackBerry PlayBook Forums BlackBerry PlayBook 5 Hi. Been reading Crackberry posts for years and recently decided to reuse my Playbook. Still working on getting it connected to a Windows 10 laptop, checking all the posts on the forum - no luck so far (Tried enabling SMBv1 and also turning antivirus off). May end up trying to use an old desktop with Windows 7 and see if I can sideload Dukto. 12-04-20 09:10 PM 296 When you plug the PB into the usb port on PC, it should bring up a pop up offering you choice for the item, along with a drive letter. One option is to run the 'setup.exe' from the playbook drive, and installs the appropriate 'blackberry device manager' You shouldn't need to 'sideload' anything, as PB has all the connection software onboard. This should happen automatically when you connect PB to the PC, (I am currently using 2 playbooks on Win 10 machines, and am currently testing this out on another laptop as I write.)Just click on the 'run the setup.exe' option, and let the pc install the software directly from the playbook, and then you should be able to access the contents from the 'Desktop Manager' that it installs. The PB should then be seen by the PC as an external drive, with it's own drive letter. If you get no response from the PB when connected to the PC, possible that USB cable is faulty, worth trying another one, as some USB cables are just 'power. Forum BlackBerry PlayBook Forums BlackBerry PlayBook 620 For those of you still using your Playbooks, what do you recommend for storing/managing passwords? Ideally I would like something cross platform that allows data to be exported/imported to BB10, and that preferably does not store online but I'm flexible on that. I could even go with something that will take a csv file (exported from BB password keeper or Keypass) even if PB only. Any recommendations? 07-07-15 03:05 PM 3,075 Vault. Forums Forum BlackBerry PlayBook Forums PlayBook Apps & Games 10 Today I'll be releasing the Blackberry Playbook version of RetroArch 0.9.9. You will have already seen this multi-system game/emulator app on Android, iOS, PC and the videogame consoles, but today is the first time it comes to Blackberry devices as well. CatalystG - who I take it is a forum regular here - will be rolling out a Blackberry 10 version of this as well on his own. I only own a Blackberry Playbook so I will let him do that release on his own. Manual It comes packaged with the following cores - Cores currently supported: - PCSX ReARMed- Genesis Plus GX- SNES9x Next- VBA Next- NEStopia- FCEUmm- Mednafen PCE Fast- Mednafen NGP- Mednafen VB- Mednafen Wonderswan- Prboom- Tyrquake- NX Engine (Cave Story)- FInal Burn Alpha- Gambatte Download Blackberry Playbook v0.9.9 (BAR) : Last edited by Libretro; 05-30-13 at 06:42 AM. Reason: link removed (advertising) 05-29-13 04:18 AM 14,292 Will this be released in BlackBerry World at some stage? If so, that link can be posted here... 05-29-13 06:43 AM 10 If it is possible I'd be glad to publish it on there. However, CatalystG told me that Blackberry World has been disapproving of apps that can be used to run emulators (and ROMs) - and out of the 15/16 cores that are in this package, at least a good 12 of them are emulators - so it'd be a hard sell. That being said, I guess I could create more legitimacy with GL tech demos like this which also run now on RetroArch - It'd be in Blackberry's interest really to be a little more lenient considering only Apple can get away with these hard-boiled stances on 'apps' and their 'glorification of copyright infringement'/whatever. We are on Google Play Store and Google seems pretty approving overall as are other big-name companies. EDIT: The link was not really 'advertising' but whatever - it is our own forums. It does not even have a single ad. Last edited by Libretro; 05-29-13 at 07:44 AM. 05-29-13 07:19 AM 1,367 Really looking forward to this. I'm hoping the Sega CD support of Genesis Plus GX works well. 05-29-13 07:41 AM 10 Forgive me if I am making a mistake by just sharing the .BAR file generated by QNX Momentics - I don't know if any more signing etc. is required for people to be able to install this on their own devices or whether it's locked to my particular device. Anyway, here is the .BAR file - the only current issue right now is that you have to manually set the 'shaders' directory since the default one it's pointing to (app/native/shaders_glsl) doesn't. Reason: grammar!! 12-06-20 02:54 PM 12,940 There used to also be a "localbar" option to sideload from another Playbook or BB10 device, wireless if I remember correctly. However, you need to get the "localbar" bar file loaded on a device somewhere to start. 12-06-20 03:16 PM 5 Thanks for suggestions. When I connected the Playbook I ran the setup and installed Blackberry device manager which showed the Playbook was connected but laptop did not assign a drive letter. The screen on the Playbook showed "Connected to Computer". I even downloaded and installed Blackberry Desktop software on the windows 10 laptop which connected and showed the Playbook model number but displayed a pop-up error message "Blackberry Desktop Software cannot communicate with the connected device". It seems to be connected but not recognized. Cable is fine. I actually have a second Playbook and went through the same routine with same results. I tried enabling SMBv1 and disabling the antivirus on the windows 10 laptop as suggested on other posts on the forum with no success. I did fire up an old desktop with Windows Vista and it connected seamlessly but it would be much more convenient to use the windows 10 laptop. While connected to the old desktop I
