Cities: Skylines 2 Release Dates

Cities: Skylines II is starting to add more varied architectureParadox InteractiveIt’s been over a year since the release of Cities: Skylines II and the user reviews are still mixed. By making the game free to play until December 9, the game’s publisher will be hoping the troubled title can turn a corner. As I wrote recently, Cities: Skylines II has improved significantly since it was first released in September 2023. The arrival of mods, improved graphical performance and the recent release of three European region packs (all free) have given the game fresh impetus.Publisher Paradox Interactive will be hoping that a weekend of free Cities: Skylines II gameplay on Steam might tempt more of the original game’s fans to give the sequel a go and see how much it’s improved. But there’s still a lot of work to do to win over some players.Cities: Skylines II Player ReviewsDespite the recent improvements to the game, Cities: Skylines II is still struggling to convince the paying punters. The game’s recent review rating on Steam remains “mixed”, with 53% of the 1,158 recent reviewers giving it a positive score, at the time of writing. What are recent players unhappy about? Bugs and crashes are still a common complaint. “I played for about four hours, carefully building my city and manually saving my progress multiple times to ensure nothing would be lost,” writes one Steam reviewer from the end of November. “Yet, during my final save, the game crashed.”“When I reopened it today, all my save files were completely gone,” the player added. “Everything I worked on vanished as if I had never played at all.”I’ve not witnessed saved games disappearing, but bugs and crashes are still too common. In my save, attempting to place industrial buildings such as oil refineries is a common crash trigger,

Cities Skylines 2 release date, trailers

Colossal Order and Paradox Interactive have delayed the console version of Cities: Skylines 2, pushing the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S release date back to Spring 2024. The PC version of the game is still expected to launch on 24th October 2023.The team wrote:“We are hard at work getting the game ready for our release on October 24th. While doing so, we have come to realize that we need more time to reach the quality targets we have set. As we want to provide the best experience for our players, we are updating the release window for Xbox and PS5 to Spring 2024. The additional time allows us to focus on matching the quality and performance across all platforms.”In a follow up FAQ, it’s been noted that all digital pre-orders for the game on PS5 and Xbox Series will be automatically refunded. Additionally, the game’s launch into Game Pass has also been split – just as with the paid launch, it will join PC Game Pass in October, while the Xbox Game Pass release will come in Spring 2024.They also clarified the PC specs for the game, with the following now required and recommended for 1080p play:Recommended Spec FHD machines:CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-12600K | AMD® Ryzen™ 7 5800XRAM: 16 GBGPU: Nvidia® GeForce™ RTX 3080 (10 GB) | AMD equivalentOS: Windows® 10 Home 64 Bit | Windows® 11Minimum Spec FHD machines:CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-6700K | AMD® Ryzen™ 5 2600XRAM: 8 GBGPU: Nvidia® GeForce™ GTX 970 (4 GB) | AMD equivalentOS: Windows® 10 Home 64 BitCities: Skyline 2 is a fantastic-looking sequel to Colossal Order’s defining city builder, taking everything that was great about the original and improving plenty of areas that weren’t so great, alongside making the jump to a newer and more capable game engine. We went hands on with the game, writing in our preview, “Cities: Skylines 2 is shaping up to be a pretty much a perfect example of a sequel. This isn’t some kind of crazy social experiment in city planning like Milton Keynes, but more like a city centre redevelopment plan that carefully looks to retain so much of the culturally significant builds and places, while also bringing so much modernisation alongside.”Source: press release

What are the best Cities Skylines 2 mods? With bigger maps, signature buildings, and even new weather cycles, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Cities Skylines 2 has everything you could possibly need. However, with the immense mod support that the first city builder received, it would be a shame if this entry missed out on the community creativity that made Cities Skylines so engaging for so long. While we’ve explored every aspect of the game in our Cities Skylines 2 review, fans of the series are dreaming up their ideal mods – it could be recreating real-life locations, adding fantastical elements to their settlements, and everything in between. Now that official mod support has reached Cities Skylines 2, the quantity and quality of these mods is ramping up, so we’ve scoured through them for very best of the best. The 21 best Cities Skylines 2 mods to try right now are:USA Northeast PackWalkways & PathsParking LotsRail InfrastructureReal Billboards and SignsExtended Bus StationBetter BulldozerTrafficHard ModeBlack Dragon CanyonGTA5 MapAnarchyMove ItBetter Pedestrian PathfindExtended TooltipMidgar MapNew YorkWanaka New ZealandAlpha DLSS EnablerRealistic DensityJapan PackUSA Northeast PackAdd some of the most iconic locations the US has to offer, including New York, Boston, and Philadelphia with the USA Northeast Pack, created by several members of the Cities Skylines 2 community. This pack includes various zones, giving you access to high and medium density housing, in addition to both offices and businesses.Netlanes Walkways & PathsAnother cosmetic mod to make your city look perfect, the Walkways and Paths Netlane Pack mod provides you with access to 73 netlanes that can go on top of sidewalks, bike paths, and walkways. This is the perfect way to design the city to your exact specifications without having to make any glaring compromises.Dan’s Parking LotsWhen you’re constructing the perfect city, we feel it’s important to have plenty of tools at hand to ensure you’re always ready to tackle any job. If there’s one thing Cities Skylines 2 is lacking, it’s a range of parking lots. Thankfully, Dan’s Parking Lots with Parks Pack rectifies this issue by adding in three new assets: extra small, medium-sized, and large-sized car parks. This helpful mod should give you the ability to ensure all of your retail shops have adequate parking, regardless of what size you build them.Rail InfrastructureRail fans, hold on to your socks as we have a mod that is about to leave the station. Tigon’s Rail Infrastructure Pack gives trains some much-needed love with a huge asset pack, adding five cargo stations, non-electrified rail networks, and two depots to the game. This mod is perfect for both EU and NA maps as it provides train variants to match either region.Real Billboards and SignsIt’s rare for people

When Will Cities: Skylines 2 Be Released on PlayStation

Behavior realistically. There is a lot to like here, but it's just hard to enjoy to its fullest when I have so many distracting issues with the fundamentals. Cities: Skylines 2 is not the best game in the lineage of Will Wright's original 1989 classic. The champion is still the original Cities: Skylines, at least for now. If Skylines 2 gets the same incredible post-launch support and additional paid and free content as its predecessor, and if the modding community is allowed to thrive, I think this sequel might come out ahead in the long run. There are so many enjoyable new systems and exciting additions, sadly encased in an awful-looking block of concrete that gets in the way of how much I know I could be loving them. It makes too many promises of realism that its most basic features like zoning can't deliver on. It feels like playing a beta, or a very early Early Access game. Frankly, Skylines 2 could have used another few months in the city planning office. For now, it's more of a fixer-upper.. Above. But the huge footprints for things like city services are very hard to find space for, especially given all of the terraforming I mentioned earlier. The only passenger train station, for example, is enormous. Look at this monster! The only high school building available takes up multiple city blocks, so forget about trying to fit it into a small town. If Skylines 2 gets the same support Skylines 1 did, I'm sure DLC, free updates, and modders will work these issues out eventually. There are glaring holes in the selection. But when I take a step back I have to admit that the number of assets we did get – between zoned, ploppables, and the fantastic signature buildings that can tie a whole neighborhood together – is generous compared to vanilla Skylines 1.Chirper, Skylines in-universe version of Twitter, also seems to be completely disconnected from reality. That may help it seem more realistic compared to its real-world counterpart in 2023. But it sure is annoying to constantly hear citizens complaining about #crime when I have a two percent crime rate. Or lamenting how the city is way too loud, when I can look at my nifty overlay and see that the only place with significant noise pollution is right next to the power plant, far away from anyone's house or any shopping areas. Just don't hang out there, Kyle!I also need to give some credit to the interface, the more flexible road and transit tools, and little quality-of-life additions. Some key features that were added by DLC in Skylines 1, like industry areas and trams, are now part of the base game. Traffic AI is much smarter and will use all lanes. Seasons change on every map based on real-world climate data, with weather and time of day affecting citizen
