Instead of red vignette, now the screen turns black & white and covered with blood splatters while you are low on health.New blood particles from bullet impact to enemies & animals. The blood squibs are bigger now once you shoot an enemy / animal.Now includes 4Ace's HD Texture Pack (DX9 ONLY!). A massive texture overhaul by 4Aces that further increases the graphical quality of the game. Fixes texture seams and optimizes the textures.In brief this is what was altered between the textures that shipped with the game and my modification.Over 20K+ seams were fixed. On average there were three seams per texture and that does not include the edge seams that appear when the texture is tiled (they were extra, and while most were also fixed, especially for high usage ones like landscape, not all were fixed). Ubisoft used a very aggressive draw distance so that anything more than 1m away from you would be of a lower resolution. That blurs out the hard edges of the seams and covers up the mess they made. I prefer to have my textures at full size for a heck of a lot longer than just 1m.Textures were optimized (Diffuse, Specular, and Normal Maps) and Normalized. The first keeps them as small as possible without harming the overall graphical experience, while the latter tries to keep them all the same size. Unfortunately the NPC skin textures are varied and in a bizarre twist, they used fully detailed models instead of using a standard morp-deformation system (which is why everyone is a clone on the island unless they are a 'special' person - e.g. Dennis). So if anyone wants to add something to this: the horrible skin for the common civilians, or the hair for just about everyone would be a good addition.Many textures (200+) were replaced with my own, especially the landscape. This was due to the originals either being of lower quality than theircounterparts, or having more than 15 center seams which required too much work to fix. Even more textures (400+) were combined with my own, to keep the original look, but make them of a higher quality so that more of the game looks of the same quality.So overall, this make the game run smoother and look much better. DIRT AND BLOOD HD RETEXTUREby NolbearWHY DID I MAKE THIS?I'm a big fan of Dirt and Blood - Dynamic Visual Effects by JaySerpa, but I've always felt like its textures could use a little love. With that in mind, I decided to rework some of the textures from the mod. My goals were to:Create a truly "covered in dirt/blood" look, to match the status effect descriptions from the modMake the dirt/blood overlays more distinct from each otherIncrease the resolution and get rid of the "pixelated" look of the overlay texturesColor-match the blood overlays with Enhanced Blood TexturesMake the soap bubble particle look less "cartoony"If any of those things sound good to you, this mod may be for you!OPTIONAL PLUGINThere is an optional, ESL-flagged plugin included with this mod. All it does is tweak the visibility of the dirt shaders to my taste, as I found them too hard to see in the early stages and too dark in the final stage. It's up to you whether or not to install it. If you do, just make sure it's loaded after Dirt and Blood - Dynamic Visuals.esp.COMPATIBILITYEnhanced Blood Textures: This mod is COMPATIBLE with Enhanced Blood Textures. In fact, the blood overlays were made using EBT assets (with permission from dDefinder). The installer includes variants to match the darker/brighter options from EBT, in case you use either of those.Your ENB preset: A couple users have posted about graphical issues with certain ENB presets, namely Silent Horizons and Photorealistic Tamriel. - Dirt and Blood Lite by JaySerpa. Choose "No" when asked if you want to install the optional plugin. It's only needed for the full version of D&B.FAQQ: Do I need the plugin?A: No, it's optional. It just tweaks the visibility of the dirt overlays to my personal taste, as I found them too hard to see at low levels and a little too overpowering at the "covered in dirt" stage. Refer to the images for a comparison with and without the plugin installed.Q: How does it look with/without ENB?A: I use Rudy's ENB for Cathedral Weathers, so these textures were made with that in mind. That being said, I think they look good both with and without ENB and in all weather/lighting conditions that I've tested so far. I might be open to creating other versions if things aren't looking good with your setup, if you catch me in a good mood...Q: How did you make these?A: I used Photoshop with the Intel Texture Works Plugin. She can also read the Japanese language, including hiragana, kanji, katakana, and romaji.
