Hello, Magic: The Gathering enthusiasts! Whether you’re a seasoned planeswalker or a newcomer to the multiverse, building a well-balanced deck is crucial for your success in the game. Today, we’re diving into a fantastic tool that can help you achieve just that: the MTG Land Calculator found at mtgshoppingcart.com. This user-friendly calculator is your secret weapon for constructing a deck with the optimal land count. The Science of Mana: How the MTG Land Calculator WorksThe MTG Land Calculator simplifies the complex task of determining how many lands your deck needs. By inputting your deck’s mana cost, devotion cost, and total number of cards, the calculator provides a precise land count recommendation. Here’s how it ensures your deck’s efficiency:Minimum Land Requirement: The calculator maintains at least a 33% ratio of land to other cards, a foundational principle for consistent mana availability.Adaptive Land Percentage: As your deck size increases, so does the percentage of land recommended. This adjustment prevents the dreaded scenario of running out of cards to play.Customized for Your Deck: Whether you’re playing a lean, aggressive deck or a control deck with high mana demands, the calculator tailors its recommendation to your specific needs.Building Your Deck: Tips for Optimal ManaColor Balance: Substitute colorless mana cards with colored ones to enhance your chances of drawing the right mana. This tweak can significantly impact your game, ensuring you’re never stuck with unusable cards.Accommodate ‘Pumpable’ Cards: If your deck features cards that require additional mana to activate abilities, consider adding extra lands. This increase supports your strategy, allowing you to leverage your cards’ full potential.Leverage Colorless Mana: Investigate options like the Urza Lands that provide a mana boost when collected together. These lands can be a game-changer, offering more than just a single colorless mana per card.Devotion Discipline: In multicolor decks, aim to keep the devotion (color commitment) of each card to one or two. This approach prevents mana color shortages and ensures a smoother gameplay experience.Embrace the MagicWith the MTG Land Calculator, you’re not just building a deck; you’re crafting a well-oiled machine that responds to your strategic commands. Remember, the key to victory in Magic: The Gathering isn’t just in the spells you cast but in the lands that power them. So go ahead, experiment with your deck, and see how this tool can elevate your game to new heights.Happy deck building, and may your mana always flow!#mtg #magicthegathering #mtgo User Profile View Posts Send Message Rise of the Funsnake Location: Las Vegas Join Date: 3/7/2012 Posts: 1,283 Member Details Great derail into box mapping valarin.Wotc doesnt care about cockatrice, hasbro has to protect its trademarks. My first suggestion is to go over to MTGNews.com and check out the thread there. Also, if you're still using MSE 1, stop, and get MSE 2.Now then...1. If you mean mana, then yes, B/R will do the trick. If you mean the Insignia, you'll have to wait for Twanvl to update, but rest assured I've sent him the style update w/ images, so it'll be just around the bend.2. Set symbols are made in the Set Info tab of MSE 2, pretty self explainatory, just double-click in the symbol field3. This is done automatically depending on the color of the card. The only this doesn't work with is when you make hybrid cards. There's now way to manually change it without going into the style files, something I'm considering doing soon as an update.Hope all that helped. There are some double standards here on this forum. If you're talking about the Microprose version of the game, then yes, that was illegal. It was a copyrighted program that you didn't have the rights to distribute. That breaks the law, even if the program is old and not on sale anymore. The issue with Cockatrice is actually an entirely different thing. From what I understand, the creators allow the program to be distributed freely. What's going on is Wizards is claiming the program violates their copyrights. It's an entirely different situation. Not all of the time, since we get stories where they have sued the dead, but they have won some cases.Making copyrighted software, and stealing copyrighted media and 2 completel different things. #19 Mar 22, 2013 I posted a link to a program from 1997Shandalar? with outdated
