Stormwind Stormwind Posted 5 Years Ago Group: Forum Members Last Active: 5 Years Ago Posts: 6, Visits: 51 I just want to make some fun animated shorts using the Unity game engine and I'm really confused about what I need to purchase. I am trying out the trial software and it appears as though I need something called 3dxchange to make everything work. What I want to do is make characters in CC3, animate their faces and maybe do some other body movements and gestures in iClone7, and then I want to export everything to Unity. It's not more complicated than that. Using the trial software I've been able to export FBX from CC3 itself, and also via 3dxchange by way of CC3 to iClone 7 to 3dxchange to Unity. With respect to movements/animations from iClone7 I've been able to bring them into Unity by first moving the model and movements/animations from iClone7 to 3dxchange and then exporting the animations from 3dxchange to Unity. Based on a tutorial video on youtube it appears that if you have 3dxchange installed you can just export from iClone7 without using 3dxchange.However, based on a response I received from customer support it appears you may not even need 3dxchange installed at all. The response I received from customer support was very confusing and contradictory though. The response I received was as follows: "iClone does not export unless 3DXchange is also installed. So you can also load the 3DXchange trial. But for exporting CC characters and motions for game engines CC3 Pipeline is a better way to go. So please do check out its trial as well. You can attach motions made in iClone7 to the CC3 Pipeline FBX export."What? I can attach motions made in iClone7 to the CC3 Pipeline FBX export? Ummm. Okay?. I was hoping to get information on fixing an issue I have using Genesis 8 in 3DXchange. I recently installed the update to bring it up to 7.61.3619.1I already had my DAZ Genesis figure in FBX format to use in 3DExchange but after installing the patch my Genesis 8 FBX no longer works. It will load and textures look fine, but when I import an Iclone motion the figures torso remains stationary and the limbs move off to the side or. Its like the limbs receive the motion but the torso doesn't. I am using the same FBX files that I always used in previous versions of 3DXchange, and my G1, G2 and G3 Fbx receive the Iclone motions with no issues. Is there something I need to do now to prep the G8 figure? Thanks!
