If you have configured Jabber not to ask users for their email addresses, their first sign in to Jabber might be non-SSO. In some deployments, the ServicesDomainSsoEmailPrompt parameter must be set to ON. This ensures that Jabber has the information required to perform a first-time SSO sign in. If users signed in to Jabber previously, this prompt is not needed because the required information is available. Verify When Jabber for Windows is started, it should automatically log in without prompting for any credentials or inputs. For other Jabber clients, you will be prompted for credentials only once. Troubleshooting Cisco Jabber Diagnostic Tool Windows and Mac The Cisco Jabber Diagnostics tool provides configuration and diagnostic information for the following services: Service Discovery Webex Cisco Unified Communications Manager Summary Cisco Unified Communications Manager Configuration Voicemail Certificate Validation Active Directory DNS Records To access the tool, users must bring the hub, call, or chat window into focus and select Ctrl + Shift + D. Users can update the data by selecting Reload . Users can also save the information to an html file by selecting Save. The tool is available by default. To disable this tool: For Jabber for Windows set the DIAGNOSTICSTOOLENABLED installation parameter to FALSE. For Jabber for Mac include the DiagnosticsToolEnabled parameter in the configuration URL with the value set to FALSE. Android, iPhone, and iPad If users are unable to sign into Cisco Jabber or your Cisco Jabber IM and Phone services aren’t connected, they can use the Diagnose Error option to check what’s causing the issue. Users can tap Diagnose Error option either from the Sign In page or from the warning notification they get when connecting to Cisco Jabber services. Cisco Jabber then verifies: If there are any network issues If Cisco Jabber servers are reachable If Cisco Jabber can reconnect If any of these checks fail, Cisco Jabber displays an error report with the possible solution. If the issue persists, they can send a problem report. Contact Resolution Tool Applies to Cisco Jabber for Windows. The Contact Resolution tool provides information for the available directory sources and a search tool to display contact search results. The client cannot resolve contacts in your directory. As a result, users do not get presence and cannot send or receive instant messages. Search Jabber IDs Cisco Jabber uses the Jabber ID to search for contact information in the directory. There are a few options to optimize searching in the directory: Search base—By default the client starts a search at the root of a directory tree. You can use search bases to specify a different search start or to restrict searches to specific groups. For example, a subset of your users have instant messaging capabilities only. Include those users in an OU and then specify that as a search base. Base Filter—Specify a directory subkey name only to retrieve objects other than user objects when you query the directory. Predictive Search Filter—You can define multiple, comma-separated values to filter search queries. The default value is ANR(Ambiguous name resolution.) Local Contact Sources Cisco Jabber has the ability to access and search local contact sources.
