The left-brain reductionist dreams of something like an exhaustive list one could study, but number sense is all about right-brain pattern matching. If you’re not familiar with the distinction of left/right hemisphere, see this GMAT post which touches on similar issues. How do you get number sense? If you don’t have it, how do you get it? That’s not an easy question. There’s no magical shortcut to number sense, but here are some concrete suggestions.1. Do only mental math. You shouldn’t be using a calculator to practice for the GMAT anyway. Try to do simpler math problems without even writing anything down. Furthermore, look for opportunities every day, in every situation, to do some simple math or simple estimation (e.g. there are about 20 cartons of milk on the grocery store’s shelf—about how much would it cost to buy all twenty?)2. Look for patterns with numbers. Add & subtract & multiply & divide all kinds of numbers—positive integers, negative integers, positive fractions, negative fractions, and look for patterns. Number sense is all about pattern with numbers!! 🙂3. This is a BIG one—in any GMAT practice problem that seemed (to you) to demand incredibly long calculations, but which had a very elegant solution of which you would have never dreamt—that problem & its solution are pure gold. In a journal, write down what insights were used to simplify the problem dramatically. Force yourself to articulate this, and return to this solution and to your notes on it often. Over time, you should develop an array of problems like this, and if you study those solutions, you probably will start to see patterns.4. Similar to #3: search theComments

2025-04-14A poppet is a tool of the witch that makes a totem of the bound person, used for good or ill. In order to bind a Poppet, one must combine the Poppet and the target's Taglock in a crafting grid.Poppets can be enchanted with Mending. The use of this varies depending on the Poppet.Usage[]Death Protection Poppet[]Once bound, this poppet revives the bound target to full health if they die, but breaks immediately after. Fatigue Poppet[]Once bound, anything that attacks the bound target will become slower. Mending Poppet[]When bound, the first tool to break instead is repaired to full durability, breaking the Poppet in the process. Protection Poppet[]When bound, the bound target does not take fire or kinetic damage.Vampiric Poppet[]Once bound, the bound target receives any damage the carrier of the poppet takes. Has no effect when on a Poppet shelf. Ironically, does not work if the target is a Vampire. Voodoo Poppet[]Once bound, various effects can be used to harm the target. Using any of these will remove durability from the Poppet, or outright destroy it. Moving the Poppet through tossing it or moving it with water will move the target an equal amount. This takes 1 durability per block moved.Dropping the Poppet in water will cause the target to start drowning, as though they're underwater. This takes 1 durability per air bubble popped, then 1 for each point of damage. (Math may be off.)Dropping the Poppet in lava will set the target on fire and immediately destroy the Poppet.Dropping the Poppet on a cactus will damage the target. The Poppet will not be destroyed by this. This takes 1 durability point per point of damage.Throwing a Splash Potion onto the Poppet will force the effect onto the target.Lingering Potions do not work for unknown reasons. The Poppet has (predictably) no
