Over normal temps after I did the torture test, I'm playing a game right now, temps are a good 51c, wich is below the average, confusing. Aug 5, 2012 822 25 19,010 #7 I do know that right now it is pretty dang hot here n the uk, hitting up to 30c but then why does my gpu sit at a lower temp then my cpu. Oct 18, 2009 1,945 6 20,965 #8 I do know that right now it is pretty dang hot here n the uk, hitting up to 30c but then why does my gpu sit at a lower temp then my cpu. if ur at 30c ambient 42 idle is fine lol, if u were idle the gpu is not used, while ur cpu may do random stuff (virus scans, windows update etc) #9 If it makes you feel better my gpu at idle is usually a less by a few degrees than my cpu too. Aug 5, 2012 822 25 19,010 #10 My Mbient temp is more then 30 I beleive, I have. Ps3 running, they kick out some tons of heat, I'm also running the pc, mostly just idling it at the moment though as its a fresh install of windows 7 and still and a lot to go back into it.So what your all saying basicly is because it is actually rather hot in my rom, the temp I'm seeing whilst theoretically idling is about normal and nothing to worry about?.I got a it scared as I know I ran it way to hot in the torture test, 71c max, and I hit 67c Aug 5, 2012 822 25 19,010 #11 Ok, 61c whilst playing gw2, this has only happend in wvw with hundreds of players, undera bout the same ambient temps, now this can't be right. #12 Yes, a hot room will do that. Many years ago I had this old nvidia 6800 xe a card notorious for being VERRRRY hot. It was a very hot day that day, and for whatever reason I neglected opening a window, and I don't wont to disturb other people in the house so I had my door closed, so at this point it was probably 30C+. I was watching tv, doing absolutely nothing on my computer and next thing I know I'm smelling burnt plastic and my computer is in a cloud of smoke. This is clearly an extreme situation, so I wouldn't worry too much. Just a funny story to tell you that yes sometime room temperature changes things. On a different note I thought max was 80 on phenom 2s. But I could be wrong. #13 Ok, 61c whilst playing gw2, this has only happend in wvw with hundreds of players, undera bout the same ambient temps, now this can't be right. If you're that worried buy an aftermarket heatsink, it should lower you heat about 7-10 degrees, atleast it did for my phenom, when I had one.
