I had a similar issue with IE8 on vista and it turned out that my antivirus (sophos) addon was causing the issue, stop it and then will work fine.Try disabling all of the add ons then add them back on one at a time until it crashes again.hope this helpsI forgot to add :You don't need to reinstall Windows in case you McFee+SA is hurting your system performance, you can opt to tweak, disable or uninstall the McFee+SA software and replace with another.(I re-install on my system because I want to learn something in my this netbook.)RegardsHi Folks,Sorry for the delay in responding. I am still trying to narrow down a cause for this issue. It still happens, but not very frequently so it is difficult to troubleshoot. As soon as I reboot the problem goes away and it can be days or weeks before it occurs again. It does not seem to be related to any of the suggestions posted, but again it is difficult to determine. Thanks for all your help.
