I've been wanting something like this for ages. I work with disabled and often neurodiverse learners. Being able to record voice notes so that they can access the text as spoken language really supports greater learning. I've just added Voice notes to my Google forms and its a game changer!The main reason I recommend the mote extension is that it is very easy to use. However, at Pike Middle School, each student’s voice is personally captured using Mote! Mr. Jordan Ricks and Tyler Adcock, along with the support of Amber Robinson (Campus Instructional Technologist) set up a Google Form for sight reading. Instead of simply vocalizing to the air, students sing directly into their Chromebooks. The result? A blend of engagement, accountability, and valuable feedback that helps each student grow. ‍Engagement & Accountability: Every Voice MattersMote ensures that each student is not just a face in the crowd, but a distinct voice. By capturing individual performances through Mote in a Google Form, students are held accountable for their contributions. Elliot, 7th grader at Pike Middle School comments, “It’s sometimes weird hearing my voice, but Mote makes the assignment easier.” He adds, “I don’t even have to be in class to do it. If I miss a day, I check Canvas and I see that it's there.” Each student in Mr. Rick’s class is engaged in the lesson knowing their voice will be heard.Feedback: Tailored and TimelyPersonal feedback allows students to grow.
