I will attempt to write this post while my touchpad 'appears' possessed. I use my 9710 mostly for word processing, research and shopping. However, after a few months of ownership (and I think after a windows 11 update), I would occasionally lose control of my laptop. the cursor would move on its own randomly across the desktop opening word documents and pictures from the desktop, moving, and occasionally deleting work documents. It (the phantom cursor) also moves me forward and back on my web browser, In fact this is my second attempt at writing this post because my cursor decided to move back before I could post it. My only solution so far has been to install an external mouse. Once I install the USB dongle the regular mouse can take over. I then unplug the mouse and I am back to normal for a few weeks. But, it happens again and again. I am not sure whether to contact tech support with an intermittent problem that has no logical explanation, contact NASA in case this is alien intervention, or to simply call a priest. There is no way I can describe this to a level 1 technician who is most likely going to ask me to reinstall a driver or update windows. (I always keep my software updated, drivers, bios, and software). Any ideas? I am beyond frustrated and ready to trash this laptop before I lose more of my work.
