MySQL :: unixODBC - Problems in the execution of isql
Isql no error message but no connection either Posted by: Elijah Stone Date: January 25, 2007 07:12AM I hope someone can help me with an ODBC installation. Background:I have mySQL running on a solaris 10 box.I have Oracle 8.1.7 running on a solaris 8 box.I want heterogenous ODBC connectivity from Oracle to mySQLI installed mysql-connector-odbc-3.51.12-sun-solaris2.8-sparc-32bit.pkg on the solaris 8 box. There was one issue with the myODBC post-installation: the script hung on "registering the driver..." and I had to abort, but I'm hoping/assuming that this is really just a question of manually configuring odbcinst.ini. As far as I can see, the library and ini files are in the right place. I have configured odbcinst.ini and odbc.ini as follows:odbcinst.iniDRIVER=/usr/lib/libmyodbc3.soSETUP=/usr/lib/libmyodbc3s.soodbc.ini[ODBC Data Sources]mySQLserver = MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver DSN[mySQLserver]Driver = /usr/lib/libmyodbc3.soDescription = MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver DSNSERVER = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxxPORT = 3306USER = myUserPassword = passwordDatabase = testOPTION = 3SOCKET =[default]Driver = /usr/lib/libmyodbc3.soDescription = MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver DSNSERVER = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxxPORT = 3306USER = myUserPassword = passwordDatabase = testOPTION = 3SOCKET =Problem:When I run isql mySQLserver myUser password -vall I get is a flashing cursor without prompt. I can type at the cursor, and the text echoes back, but I'm not interacting with isql in any way. The only way to escape is ctrl-c.If I simply type isql with no arguments, I get the short help output. Can anyone tell me what this apparent nonresponse but also noncomplaining behaviour from isql means? Many thanks Subject Written By Posted isql no error message but no connection either January 25, 2007 07:12AM Sorry, you can't reply to this topic. 2025-04-24Isql no error message but no connection either Posted by: Elijah Stone Date: January 25, 2007 07:12AM I hope someone can help me with an ODBC installation.
