Bezel.ahk file and the bezel image and ini files needed to use the feature. In order to use this you need to have a valid bezel loaded. Note that on NullDC, due to an emulator limitation, if the bezel does not give enough clearance to show the VMU window at the side of the main window, the VMu will not be showed, so use a bezel with a smaller main screen to avoid this issue.Surely, you need to enable the VMU to show on both modules to see the window and its bezel.I included some extra options:You can align the VMU bezel in different positions by changing the VMUPos options. You can set a key to hide and show the VMU windows by pressing a key (default key is F10). Please let me know if things work as they should so I can pass these changes to djvj so he can approve them for including on the official release. #6 Re: Question about Sega Dreamcast and Demul. The emu window on the screen at the same time?I switched over to NullDC because it can display more than one VMU (couldn't figure out how to setup more than one on Demul). So I added bezel support to the NullDC module... Thanks,Ron #4 Re: Question about Sega Dreamcast and Demul.I took a second look at demul after posting the answer here.If I didn't missed anything, the VMU has a fixed resolution on demul (it is always something like 144x96 pixels). So if I used the normal bezel functions the bezel would not be shareable between users with different resolutions. Therefore, there was no way to use the standard bezel functions for supporting this without compromises. So I decided to create special functions only for the demul module to display the VMU with a bezel. Try to test this module to see if it works for you.You can control if you want to display the VMU or not by using the DisplayVMU option. If bezel is enabled and there is a file named "VMU bezel*.*" on your bezel folder, the VMU will be displayed with a bezel around it. Here are the files that you need to test this:View attachment hyperlaunch demul module test.zipI used the module that I had at hand for developing this. I don't know if it is the last version or not.About the NullDC question. Yes, it is possible to support more than one VMU screen. But before I try to do anything with the NullDC module I need to know if the VMU on NUllDC is resizable or not, and if the bezel mode on NullDC is the fixedResMode or if it is the normal bezel mode.Could you send to me the current module that you are using for it? #5 Re: Question about Sega Dreamcast and Demul.Hi rfancella,I added support for the VMU bezels on the demul and NullDC modules that you can find on this zip file:View attachment HyperLaunch VMU changes.zipIf you can, please test to see if things work as they should. On the zip file you will find the edited modules, a updated

Is to have VMU only or PURUPURU only.and another thibg : there is absolutely no way to completely hide nulldc during game launch? #13 Re: Question about Sega Dreamcast and Demul.Nice rfancella! Glad that it is finally working as it should. I had to "fight" a little bit with the emu for making this to work. bartmarley, Yeah, sadly demul is slow to me almost always. I am afraid I don't know that much about nulldc to answer you about the control plugins. I only tested things using the logitech friendly control plugin. I don't know if it will work while using the purupuru (the plugin would need to have the VMU creation support on it also). If it doesn't support by its own, there is not much that HyperLaunch can do about it. Maybe a request for the plugin developer is more suitable on this case.I will try to take a look if I can improve in any way the NullDC hiding on load.I will post here if I need any tests from you guys.Thks for the feedback. #14 Re: Question about Sega Dreamcast and Demul. very great !!and no slowdonwns when exiting HP !!hope demul module could be that workable (always have big slowdowns with demul module exiting HP)a quick question to rf : did you manage to have both VMU and RUMBL working with nulldc?i'm using r150 and if i set purupuru plugin (rumble) it always crash demul on exitthe only solution i figured out for now is to have VMU only or PURUPURU only.and another thibg : there is absolutely no way to completely hide nulldc during game launch? Bought with many expectations in the market, goals are not meet the audience and very disappointed with it. The emulator requires a BIOS, and you can borrow one from your Dreamcast console if its still lying around.īefore going further, we have to talk about the part, which is a tad complex than REDREAM.ĭreamcast console was popular among its users for the various games and multiple designs. The controller on nullDC requires a plugin to work with the games. Head to Options > Plugins and find the Maple section, which requires your attention.Īlthough the default plugin works for generic controllers, some Xbox 360 controller user have complained of problems. You can switch to the PuruPuru Dreamcast controller to get things going for you.Īudio and graphics work amazingly well for most games with minor glitches in textures for some of the games. There is a high level of game compatibility, but we cannot term it as perfect since it is not possible with limited resources and time. It was difficult to get hands-on the working file(compressed) of Chankast, and the one available abundantly on the Internet is corrupted. Chankast was the first Dreamcast emulator to run commercial games developed for the Sega console. There are two CDROM plugins along with an input plugin by ElSemi. In the controller department, 4 connected devices are supported along with the VMS support for cartridges. On top of that, there is an external input plugin developed by Darkman, which can be used for better controller compatibility.. NullDC/Reicast. So I can pass these changes to djvj so he can approve them for including on the official release. Bleasby,This is the shizz! The Demul & NullDC module works. The only issue is this. The VMU is displayed behind the bezel. The VMU bezel is drawn on top:Demul: I used a test bezel to see the VMU's: NullDC: & Also, should there be some options added to the isd file to allow you to set the positions, set the hide/show key and for NullDC how many to show??Thanks,Ron #7 Re: Question about Sega Dreamcast and Demul. The options are on the module (showVMU, VMU1Pos, VMU2Pos, VMU3Pos, VMU4Pos, VMUHideKey) but I did not changed any ISD file because we are still testing this stuff. From my tests, the only way to consistently being able to make the VMU window to appear above the bezel on the NullDC module is by making sure that the VMU window does not get near the main game window (including window borders). I don't know if there is a work around for that, but it seams that the emu acts strangely if there is a intersection between these windows and don't let me to set the correct window order to be showed. You could test if the same thing happens to you by using a bezel image that has a smaller gameplay area in the middle. If the VMU shows on that case, I don't know if I am going to be able to find a work around for that except by removing the VMU bezel image borders to make it get closer to the screen borders to allow slightly bigger bezel screens.About how many VMU windows show on the NullDC module, that depends on your controller settings. I auto detect when the emu creates a new window and them create the bezel for it. If you want less VMU windows to be showed, you just need to remove them from the emulator Maple settings. #8 Re: Question about Sega Dreamcast and Demul. The options are on the module (showVMU, VMU1Pos, VMU2Pos, VMU3Pos, VMU4Pos, VMUHideKey) but I did not changed
