My opera gx wont open

Last edited by @leocg Not really sometimes it helps open the actual window, but they still wont load webpages. Acorns last edited by @leocg I found an older version of of Opera GX (Version is LVL 1 (core: 62.0.3331.96)), and it works but when I update through the browser to the current version, is causes the same problem where none of the webpages load. Is it possible to get a older patch that is more current. Acorns @leocg last edited by @leocg Hey so I was never able to find a build that works but if I download Opera_GX_79.0.4143.73_Autoupdate_x64.exeAnd open it on the desktop and it extracts all the files on to the desktop it works, but I'm stuck with all the files on my desktop. If I move those files into a folder it stops working. Any thoughts on how I could figure a way move those files and still have it work? leocg Moderator Volunteer @Acorns last edited by @acorns If you create a Opera_GX folder, it also doesn't work? Acorns @leocg last edited by @leocg If I create a "Opera_GX" folder then open the Opera_GX_79.0.4143.73_Autoupdate_x64.exe inside of it, it will not work only doing it from the desktop makes it work. leocg Moderator Volunteer @Acorns last edited by @acorns What about launcher.exe or opera.exe? Acorns @leocg last edited by @leocg I am still having the same issue even after the latest update. I have to to have the files listed above on my desktop in order to open and and use Opera GX. opera gx wont open, neither will the installer

Open a black small screen (opening opera animation) on the screen, opening for a second, closing, and this process repeating three or four times before giving up. In the task manager it says a opera crash reporter was on in the background too. I came back from school today and now the black screen thing happens, but a opera gx logo appears. is there anything youve done to fix anything similar to this? NikxEF50 @itzmaxxxx last edited by @itzmaxxxx Only thing that i suggest you to do is to get the installation file and try repairing opera GX, its the only thing that comes to my mind. If you're encountering an issue where Opera GX restarts immediately upon opening on Mac Sonoma, and you cannot access safe mode or configuration settings, here's a simple solution.Solution: Update Opera GX using the Brew package manager for simplicity and reliability.Steps to Resolve:Open the Terminal on your Mac.Install or update Opera GX using the Brew package manager with the following command:brew install --cask opera-gxBrew will handle downloading, upgrading, and replacing the existing app for you. For example, here's what you might see during the process:==> Downloading 100.0%==> Upgrading 1 outdated package:opera-gx 114.0.5282.243 -> 115.0.5322.113==> Upgrading opera-gx==> Downloading 100.0%==> Backing App 'Opera GX.app' up to '/opt/homebrew/Caskroom/opera-gx/114.0.5282==> Removing App '/Applications/Opera GX.app'==> Moving App 'Opera GX.app' to '/Applications/Opera GX.app'==> Purging files for version 114.0.5282.243 of Cask opera-gx🍺 opera-gx was successfully upgraded!Once the upgrade is complete, launch Opera GX. It should now open smoothly without issues.Outcome: This method resolved the restarting issue, and Opera GX worked seamlessly afterward.Note: A similar approach might work on Windows, but Brew isn't available for Windows.Feel free to share if this resolves your issue? 🧉 ThortheOG @darksorcy last edited by Hello there @darksorcy. For some reason my browser still behaves the same way even if I start it up on a private window. It still crashes just a few seconds after I open it. Please help me on what to do if you can. Read more In the last few days, I have seen several reports of YouTube videos or Shorts displaying a black screen on Opera GX. In most cases, the audio runs fine, but for a few, there’s no sound as well on YouTube. Additionally, some see a white glow on YouTube in Opera GX!The underlying causes for YouTube not working on Opera GX include issues with hardware acceleration, conflicting extensions, corrupt browsing data, problems with the installed GPU driver, and misconfigured settings. To start with, I recommend you update Opera GX to the latest version, use another YouTube account, or switch the browser profile. If YouTube shows a black screen when opting for Full-Screen mode in Opera GX, first press T to enable Theatre mode and then F for the Full-Screen mode. The workaround seemingly worked for many. How do I fix Opera GX’s black screen while running YouTube?1. Disable hardware accelerationLaunch the browser, click on the Opera menu near the top left, and select Settings.Scroll down, click on Advanced to view more settings, and then turn off the toggle for Use graphics acceleration when available. For video-playing issues, whether with YouTube or any streaming platform, your primary approach should be to disable hardware acceleration in Opera GX. This also works when Opera GX is not streaming Discord.2. Disable conflicting extensionsOpen the browser, click the Opera menu, select Extensions from the list of options, and then again choose Extensions.Click the Disable button under the first extension here. Relaunch the browser and verify whether YouTube videos show a black screen on Opera GX. If the problem is fixed, again open Extensions, click the Remove button under the one you just disabled, and confirm the change. In case the problem persists, disable other extensions individually and check for improvements.3. Clear the browsing dataLaunch Opera, and press Ctrl + Shift + Del to open the Clear browsing data window.Choose All time from the Time. This topic has been deleted. Only users with topic management privileges can see it. last edited by leocg Hello, I received a notice in the Opera Desktop browser (which I love) telling me about Opera GX and asking if I wanted to download it. I thought why not, I would check out later before installing. When I clicked "Download Opera GX", a "save as" window opened and instead of clicking "save", I decided to cancel until I figured out if I wanted it. Now, every time I open the Opera Desktop browser, a Save As window automatically opens with "OperaGXsetup.exe" asking me to click to "save" the file. Even thought I cancel (and once I even downloaded the .exe) it keeps happening. Does anyone know how to stop it from trying to download. In Opera I cleared cookies, cache and hosted app data with no luck. Thanks Much! leocg Moderator Volunteer @qqm last edited by @qqm Did you try cleaning up the downloads list? A Former User last edited by yet to do that qqm last edited by This post is deleted! qqm @leocg last edited by This post is deleted! qqm @leocg last edited by @leocg Thanks for the suggestion I hadn't tried clearing downloads and just did. grrr - no difference. Opera GX seems to have planted a little seed somewhere that triggers Opera Desktop to keep downloading. I really don't want to resort to installing GX to see if that will stop the downloads because then I have to deal with the uninstall - program, registry settings and any modifications GX may make to the Desktop version that is configured perfectly. Hope there's another idea. Another big reason I don't want to reset Opera or risk messing with my Opera Desktop setup is I have a password manager that is very finicky to set up with Opera to recognize the master encrypted password file, and it's finally also working perfectly. Any other ideas will be very welcome. Is there a way to reach out to the Opera GX development team about this? Thanks. leocg Moderator Volunteer @qqm last edited by @qqm Are you closing all tabs before closing Opera? qqm @leocg last edited by @leocg Closing all tabs worked! 10 PC and has never had Opera browser before. It does have Google Chrome browser installed however, my previous browser. Used this installer: Opera_GX_73.0.3856.438_Setup_x64.exe, the latest as of this writing. No error or exception dialog pops up, so really no clue why I can't run the 64-bit version of Opera GX but I'd like to make you aware of the issue or figure out my problem and get it fixed. elrroccopa last edited by Opera GX just won't open, I already tried uninstalling more than 3 times, cleaning the cache and% appdata% but the problem continues, Opera GX just shows its logo animation but the browser never opens. quik @elrroccopa last edited by @elrroccopaDo Windows Key + R and paste -"%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Opera GX\launcher.exe" -uninstall (with the -uninstall, don't delete anything)Make sure that Delete my Data is UNCHECKED and uninstall the app.Download an old offline installer from the links - 64 bit OR 32 Bit: x64 - x32 - from the internet and run the installersDo Windows Key + R and paste -"%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Opera GX\73.0.3856.438"From there delete the opera_autoupdater.exe, and do the same from 73.0.3856.438_0 or similar if they existRun Opera GX normally Dream on till your dream comes true AsimosTriouss @quik last edited by @quik Thanks that fixed the problem it runs all fine now ndyer115 last edited by I recently installed opera gx and got everything setup. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and also logging into a local windows account instead of using my microsoft account but nothing seems to work.
