Parallels 11 on High Sierra?

Ok I am running macOS Sierra Version 10.12 on my Macbook Air (13-inch, Mid 2012) Processor 2GHZ Intel Core 7, Memory 8GB 1600mhz DDR3, Graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536MB, 1 a 1TB SSD drive. there seems to be an issue with Parallels 11 and 12 that breaks the use on the installed FaceTime HD camera on Sierra and El Capitan every time Parallels is lanuched ! this is annoying has hell!, the only fix is to stop Parallels (quit the app) and reboot your mac, then and only then will the FaceTime camera work, it happens on mac book pro's as well. Can your programmers take a look at your code and fix this issue!! If not I will have to look at some thing like VMWare to see if they have the issue. I use video Conferencing daily and have not been able to use it for weeks now (WebEx).. Please advise! The exact same thing is happening to me. I called apple because it started right after the macOS Sierra upgrade as it was working fine prior to that. Before the upgrade I was running Desktop 11, and after that I was too. Something to do with the way Parallels overall plays with Sierra. Any solutions to this would be much appreciated Yep same here VMWare 8.5 has the same issue points back to Sierra and Parallels issue, I guess the parallels team does not read their own forum! Hey Guys!We have escalated the issue you reported to the Engineering Team and the are working on this issue. In the meanwhile, you can try this work around. Share This Page. I was ABSOLUTELY able to switch between my full screen parallels desktop and the other desktops with Parallels 11 and Sierra. It's only after upgrading to Parallels 12 that I wasn't able to use the old option present in Parallels 11. I'm still using Parallels 11 with Win10 as a VM, which is working perfectly. Now, I'm thinking about updating my MacOs from Sierra to High Sierra. Will Parallels 11 still work in Yes, i am using Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac on Mac Os X High Sierra. MasriM, 15. Tags: activation error internet connection parallels desktop 11 sierra Dear all, there are already at least 2 similar threads with the same topic but without any solution so far.I just completely reinstalled my iMac mid2011 from scratch (after reformatting the drives).I used the latest OSX supported for that model which is 10.13.6 High Sierra (where Parallels 11 was running fine before I formatted the drives).During the Parallels 11 installation process I was asked to enter my account data for activation. It failed with the following error message: "Check your Internet connection". My internet connection is fine! I am just logged in in my Parallels account and downloaded my P11 copy from there (plus the license key).I think Parallels has changed something with the activation servers (I faced the same issue with Adobe Lightroom 6, but there was a workaround for this). Can you please support me and tell me how to activate my copy of Parallels 11 on OSX 10.13.6.? I payed for it and legally own it (without any expiration date)! I think I should be able to install and use it.Thank you very much! To make things clear. Product is "Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac". I entered correct mail-address and password for my parallels account. After confirmation - the error message "Check your Internet connection" appears. From my experience with Adobe Lightroom 6 activation I think there it was related to an update of the Adobe activation servers to TLS 1.2.Please Parallels Support - held the users with this activation issue. I am not alone. Thanks again. I already tried which exactly describes my problem. But after executing all the steps the problem still exists. Also tried that has not solved the problem either. Hello, I would like ti purchase Parrallels 13 to run it on High Sierra together with 10.8.Can you confirm that Parallels 13 works with OS 10.8 ?Thanks ! Hello DelphineJ, Are you trying to install Mac OSX 10.8 as a virtual machine in Parallels Desktop 13? Yes. I would like to run on High Sierra and have 10.8 also available to run some of my apps Yes, you can run OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.x as a virtual machine in Parallels Desktop 13 installed in high Sierra. Thank you very much.I want to make partition on the internal disk for 10.8. How should I proceed ? Should I make the partition and install 10.8 system in it first or should I install Parallels 13 first ? You have to install it inside Parallels Desktop using the recovery partition or the installation USB stick. Ok. I don't have a recovery partition or USB stick. But it is my computer's native system and I'm still running on it now so it's saved on TimeMachine. So I will upgrade to Hi Sierra and then recover it from TimeMachine via Parallels Desktop. Would that do ? "it" meaning "10.8 system" in my messageis it the same process if I decide to install the virtual 10.8 system on an external drive ? (might be my best option so I would just upgrade now to 10.13 without partitioning) ? Share This Page

You are using an out of date browser. It may not display this or other websites correctly. You should upgrade or use an alternative browser. I need to run some old (32bit) apps on my M1 MacBook (2021) with Monterey. It is my understanding that with Parallels it should be possible to install High Sierra in a virtual machine, and then run my apps there. However, I have no luck installing the old macOs in Parallels, as I always get the error message "The specified image cannot be used because your Mac is equipped with the Apple M1 chip that doesn't support Intel-based operating systems" - sure thing, that's why I buy Parallels! Can anyone please point me to instructions on how to install High Sierra on an M1 machine? Thanks a lot in advance! I see, that must have changed some time ago. When Parallels hit the market in the 2000s, I had bought several licenses it to run windows on my powerPC Macs. NOT requiring the same processor architecture was the whole point back then. Why would I need a virtualizer if it doesn't do this? Then I can just as well install a different OS natively, e.g. on an external disk. Never mind, this saves me a lot of money that I would happily have given to Parallels. Thanks for pointing me to QEMU, I'll try that out - performance is not an issue for my applications. I agree that this seems odd. I would have thought the VMs would have hardware abstractions layers that would allow running of older systems on new hardware. Does anyone know if one can run Parallels 15 (which supposedly supports running High Sierra) on an M1 Mac via Rosetta? I believe Rosetta is designed to run Intel instruction set code on the M1 chip. No. You can't run Parallels Desktop 15 on a M1. Parallels is a hypervisor for virtualization. Not an emulator. Share This Page
