And called his enemy a racial slur when his shots didn't kill his enemy immediately, allowing them to take cover. PewDiePie immediately realized what he said and apologized on stream, but this wasn't enough to assuage his viewers. The media quickly picked up on the incident and reported on PewDiePie's use of the slur, making him the subject of mainstream media for weeks. The fact that PewDiePie didn't consider not uploading the video, knowing that he uttered a racial slur, ended up being his biggest mistake. This incident led to many of PewDiePie's sponsors cutting ties with him, which then led to the YouTuber's YouTube Red series Scare PewDiePie getting canceled.Apart from this, PewDiePie once used Fiverr to commission two men to hold up a placard with anti-semitic messaging and shoot a video out of it. PewDiePie's video received massive backlash, and he was accused of normalizing anti-semitic views, making it seem okay to his viewers. PewDiePie defended himself saying that he was simply showing how ridiculous the website Fiverr was and that he honestly thought that his request would be declined. Again, the fact that PewDiePie didn't consider not uploading the video, knowing that it had racially-insensitive content, led to this controversy. What is PewDiePie Up To Nowadays?PewDiePie is no stranger to controversies, and while he's been more careful with his words and actions now that every action he makes gets scrutinized by the media, there is still occasional slip-ups here and there. YouTube’s most popular user is once again facing backlash — this time for promoting a highly anti-Semitic channel by recommending a video featuring a racial slur and a white supremacist conspiracy. With 76 million subscribers, gaming vlogger PewDiePie, a.k.a. Felix Kjellberg, is the most popular individual on YouTube. In a since-edited video posted on December 9, he recommended several YouTube channels he said he’d been enjoying recently. One of those channels is called “E;R,” and PewDiePie lauded its “great video essays,” including “one on [the Netflix movie] Death Note which I really enjoyed.” He also linked to the channel in his video description. (The recommendation has since been edited out of the video.)To casual observers, PewDiePie’s support of E;R may have appeared harmless — one YouTube user supporting another. But a more-than-cursory dive into the channel would have revealed several instances of disturbing imagery, slurs, and white supremacist messaging. E;R’s creator even refers to his reputation as a racist in the channel’s FAQ.The outcry against PewDiePie’s recommendation of the channel was immediate, with media outlets and other YouTube users citing it as an example of PewDiePie flirting with alt-right culture and sending a dangerous message to his millions of followers, many of whom are teenagers. In response, PewDiePie released a follow-up video on December 11 in which he described the incident as an “oopsie” and scoffed at the idea that he was promoting anti-Semitism by merely “recommending someone for their anime review.”“All I said was I like this guy’s anime review,” PewDiePie says in the video. “[The channel creator] apparently likes to have hidden and not-so-hidden Nazi references in his videos and obviously if I noticed that I wouldn’t have referenced him in the shoutout.”PewDiePie also referred to several past incidents that sparked a similar outcry: a video in which he performed a Nazi “heil” salute, and one in which he hired a pair of performers from a freelancer website to hold up a sign reading “Death to all Jews.” He said these examples were satirical, but many observers condemned them as anti-Semitic.“I said publicly a year and a half ago that. pewdiepie shop. pewdiepie shop. top of page. PEWDIEPIE'S SECRET OLD WEBSITE! - YouTube

PewDiePie is taking on YouTube’s new advertisement policy in a new satirical video that promises he’s going “family friendly.”In a new video posted today, PewDiePie explained that since YouTube’s new advertisement policy went into effect, more than a third of his videos had become demonetized. The only way to earn an income comparable to what he’s been making on YouTube is to rework the type of content on his channel.“No more swearing, no more sexual jokes and definitely no more Hitler jokes,” PewDiePie says. “I wish I was joking, I’m not. It seems that YouTube has made some changes and about a third of my videos have become demonetized. I’m going to have [to be] family friendly from now on so I don’t go homeless.“I love money too much.”To raise a point about the new rules regarding advertisement placement on the site, PewDiePie spends the majority of his video making jokes that could be construed as inappropriate without ever going against the site’s new guidelines. After making less money in one day than he did in 2013, according to the YouTube personality, the new advertisement policy is effectively forcing him to either change his tone or accept less ad deals. That being said, however, PewDiePie is still one of the most watched, subscribed to and highest paid personalities on the site. Even with the new restrictions on content, he’s making more than the rest of YouTube’s creators.YouTube recently decided to make it more difficult for YouTube creators to get paid after controversy over the type of content getting monetized. Big companies in Europe and North America started pulling advertising after learning their ads were being placed before videos promoting hateful or questionable content. PewDiePie, who in many ways kickstarted the controversy YouTube is facing after videos containing anti-Semitic content were published on his channel, is one of the better known personalities affected by YouTube’s new changes. In March, YouTube provided a statement about the new changes it was bringing into effect. A blog post published on YouTube’s creators’ website explained that YouTube wanted to ensure that its creators got paid for

By viewers in any way they like. Because of this, there have been times when the popular YouTuber received criticism for his alleged right-wing political views and Anti-Semitic attitude.Related NewsArticle continues belowThese allegations were at their peak in 2018 when a New York Times article titled “YouTube's Monster: PewDiePie and His Populist Revolt” was published. The article detailed how PewDiePie was slowly becoming a banner figure by alt-right extremists. “Over time,” the article says, “he grew into an unlikely, disorienting, and insistently unserious political identity: He became YouTube's very own populist reactionary.”Some would even go as far as saying that PewDiePie's content amplified Anti-Semitic views, which happened when PewDiePie endorsed a YouTube channel that produced content he liked and wanted to share to fans. The problem was that, unbeknownst to PewDiePie (at least, according to him), the YouTube channel he shared actually had videos with Anti-Semitic themes. He inadvertently led some of his followers to a channel that could have impressed Anti-Semitic views on them. Finally, things finally exploded when an alt-right shooter in New Zealand invoked PewDiePie's name before committing his horrendous crime. The racially motivated hate crime resulted in 40 deaths and 5 injured. PewDiePie quickly denounced the act, saying that he was sickened by what the criminal did, and distanced himself from associations with extremists. Is PewDiePie Racist? Finally, we are at the part of the article where PewDiePie almost lost his platform.Back in September 2017, PewDiePie uttered a racial slur in a now-deleted video. He was playing PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds
