To windows 10. ellengard -> RE: Importing projects from Print Shop 23.1 (3/7/2016 4:47:57 PM) quote:ORIGINAL: nancy1965 Hopefully, the next version of The Print Shop will be different and let us import our projects into the new program with ease again and no rastorizing of original projects. I don't think that is going to happen, so if there are graphics from v23.1 you really want to keep, start exporting them as high-res JPGs which can be used in any graphics program on all operating systems. nancy1965 -> RE: Importing projects from Print Shop 23.1 (3/7/2016 6:46:55 PM) Ellen, That's great advice but it would be extremely time consuming since I have so many projects. I have one other idea... What about the 3.5 version of The Print Shop? Would I be able to use that on Windows 10 and import all of my projects from 23.1 deluxe without them being rasterized? Thank you, Nancy ellengard -> RE: Importing projects from Print Shop 23.1 (3/7/2016 7:43:54 PM) Version 4.0 is the improved version 3.5. Version 3.5 is the improved version 3.0. Version 23.1 was the last of its kind. There are no updates to it. Version 3.0 was an entirely "new, from the ground up" program, designed to be compatible with the newer Windows operation systems, not v23.1. All new Print Shop programs are updates from v3.0. Opening older projects in v4.0 has not changed since v3.0. nancy1965 -> RE: Importing projects from Print Shop 23.1 (3/7/2016 7:51:22 PM) That's good to know. I have just downloaded windows 10 on my laptop (I have 2 computers). I had uninstalled The Print Shop 23.1 before I downloaded per the instructions on one of these boards to have the best chance of being able to run 23.1 Deluxe on it. I will be re-installing it on there and I am really hoping that it works without any glitches. I absolutely love that version and that is what I'm used to. If you have any input on that, let me know. Otherwise, thank you for your help! Nancy ellengard -> RE: Importing projects from Print Shop 23.1 (3/7/2016 9:40:13 PM) You're welcome, Nancy! I hope v23.1 will run on Win10. I'm still hanging onto Win7. I find that printing directly from v23.1 produces sharper images than printing directly from v4.0. However, since I get most of my color printing done professionally via PDF upload, I have to use other programs that allow me to create a PDF with embedded fonts. So I will often create the graphical layout in Print Shop and export as JPG. I import the JPG to MS Word or Serif PagePlus, add my text, then print to PDF. nancy1965 ->. Since your old version ofThe Print Shop won't run on your new computer, you installed ThePrint Shop 3.5.But what if your projects are olderthan version 21? Even though they are too old to be openedwith TPS3.5, there is a work-around.The JPG file format is compatible withall graphics programs, on all computers, so let's create JPGs fromyour old projects.Boot up your old computer and openyour old Print Shop program. Open a project.Remove elements that you don't want tobe permanent. In this example, I want to be able to change mymenu items and prices, so I delete this text box.Everything else, I want "fixed", so Iam ready to create my JPG.File> Export As... brings upthe Export As dialog box.Change the resolution to 300 dpi, necessary for high quality printing.Give your JPG a name. Click the My Photos icon to import yourJPG. If you have already experienced adding photos to yourprojects in this program before, you'll notice that the procedureis exactly the same.Browse to where your JPG is stored(memory stick) and select the file. Its thumbnail is added tothe Photos Gallery. Click on it and the JPG appears in yourproject.Size and position your newgraphic. 2025-04-20RE: Importing projects from Print Shop 23.1 (3/7/2016 9:49:41 PM) I'm very happy with windows 7 as well but my main computer is old and is not running the best so I'm just afraid that I may have to replace it sooner rather than later and will be stuck with windows 10 so I want to be prepared just in case. By the way, I love your blog and publishing tips! Thanks again for all of your help! Nancy Mr C -> RE: Importing projects from Print Shop 23.1 (3/7/2016 9:57:43 PM) It sounds as tho we might have the same problem! My best advise for you is to save "ALL" of your projects as pictures in jpeg format. I never bought version 23.1 but i did have ver 23. My projects cannot be imported into the new 4.0 version. Pictures do import but the text cannot be edited by any means. I'm now having to learn this new program that works nothing like my older one. Resizing my projects is giving me a real headache!! Good luck!! Thank you! I hope my blog articles help show people the things v3.5/4.0 can do. I'm always open to suggestions for new blog topics. ellengard -> RE: Importing projects from Print Shop 23.1 (3/7/2016 11:16:44 PM) quote:ORIGINAL: Mr C ... have ver 23. My projects cannot be imported into the new 4.0 version. Pictures do import but the text cannot be edited by any means. Text boxes should convert over as new editable text boxes. If they did not, it could be that the project was too complicated so things got rasterized. nancy1965 -> RE: Importing projects from Print Shop 23.1 (3/7/2016 11:23:20 PM) I've started to export some of my files to high resolution JPEGs. I have thousands of files so it's going to be an ongoing project that I'll probably never finish. I'm thinking now that my best bet will be to look for a NEW windows 7 computer if there is such a thing now. In the meantime, mine is still working but it is very slow and noisy. I'm just afraid it's gonna die. I do have a laptop too that I just installed the Windows 10 on but I'm having trouble printing off of it wirelessly (nothing to do with Print Shop program). I'll ask my son for help with that as he is computer savvy or I'll contact my printer company. With that said, as of right now I do not know how version 23.1 is going to respond to windows

2025-03-27This patch has benefits that improve the speed and performance of Paint Shop Pro 8. Some of the enhancements include:Fixed issues that caused the JPEG Optimizer to lock up in certain circumstances.Fixed issues that caused colour management to work incorrectly.Fixed an issue that caused images to print at an incorrect size if they were created with a pixels/cm setting.Fixed issues that caused some EXIF data to be cut off and JPEG comments deleted when saving a JPEG file.Changed all strings in scripts to be written as Unicode strings (only the Text tool used Unicode in 8.00). This has affected the SimpleCaption script, and could affect any handwritten scripts that manipulate string values.Resolved issues that could cause the program to crash when using the Warp tool outside of an active selection.Fixed issues in the Optimizers that caused some settings to be ignored when saving files.Enhanced performance of the Effects Browser when previewing complex effects.Resolved an issue that could cause the program to lockup when using the Clear function in the Image Slicer.Improved performance of JPEG Artefact Removal adjustment on large images.Improved performance of proofing functions in effects and adjustments.Fixed an issue that caused the program to crash after resizing the Save As dialog when using the JPEG, GIF or PNG Optimizer.Added PCDLib32.dll to the Animation Shop folder. Without this file, the program would not launch if started directly from the program folder (worked fine when launched from Paint Shop Pro or the Start menu).Fixed an issue that caused the program to crash after double-clicking the Text tool on a floating selection.Fixed an issue that caused the brush outline of the Warp brush to not be drawn correctly when used outside of a selection. For a more complete listing of fixes and enhancements, please see the Read Me document (psp810_readme.pdf).AUTHOR JASCFILE NAME psp810enp.exeFILE SIZE 20MBSYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Paint Shop Pro 8Windows 98/Me/2000/XP DOWNLOAD Paint Shop Pro 8.1 update
