Tone2 Audio has updated their synthesizer workstation Electra to v2.7. The update to v2.7 is a major update, which is available for free. Obviously, it has fewer features, but taking "Gold", "Box tone" and "Alchemy" out of the equation, Orange is a little brighter, snappier and harder. Gold is warmer and softer then. For EDM stuff and such, I am afraid OC is preferable. I would much rather have had this as an option inside GC than as a separate plugin, though. My understanding of Gold is that it measures the amplitude per sample (post clipping) and applies gain based on a formula.Could you not implement that with a waveshaper / soft clipper? For example, if you had the formula right, could you not implement "Modern" by driving a signal +2.5dB into a soft clipper / waveshaper? Having all the clippers in the world, including Ash and whatnot, GoldClip tops them all. Ease of use, top sound when you need it. Highly reocmmended.
