Hello all,I understood that it was possible to type in a command into the offline editor rather than using the shortcut keys. So for example typing [Q][u][e][r][y] instead of using the Y shortcut. I sometimes forget the shortcuts and it would be nice to be able to just type them out instead of having to look them up. I know this used to be dependant on releasing Scroll Lock on Windows machines and that this functionality was recently changed so that you wouldn't have to deploy Scroll Lock in the first place to use the Hotkeys. So my question is this. Is there any way of "releasing" Scroll Lock on the Mac platform to enable typing of commands, since the Mac doesn't have this functionality built into the OS and therefore has no dedicated key. Also does this still work on the Windows platform since the functionality was changed? My apologies if this has been covered in an earlier post. I have scanned the forums and found a few related posts but nothing that really answers my question. Thanks for your time Sabr hi sabrbeing on a windows platform i can't answer your question about how the scroll lock functionality works on a mac. but on windows it still works. the only thing that changed in 1.9 (?) was that before u had to press scroll lock to use shortcuts unpress it to type commands. now it's the other way round.greetings from switzerlandueli Hi UeliThanks for your reply. I have done a little more investigating and it seems that I was correct in thinking that Mac OS X does not support Scroll Lock as a native feature of the os. Apple have a different philosophy in this regard. They have done away with keys like Home, Scroll Lock and Pause that you usually find on PC qwerty keyboards in favour of modifier keys like the Command or Option keys found on Mac Qwertys. I'm quite new to Mac so I'm still finding a lot of this out for myself! Anyway it seems Scroll Lock still exists as a function key in OSX but is only available to third party application developers and is not mapped to any key by default. I found it in the Unicode listings along with the other PC function keys you don't find on Mac keyboards. Scroll Lock is still used in Microsoft Excel for Mac.
