The Spirometry extension is a free software analysis tool for LabChart users that is ideal for researchers working on respiratory studies in both human and animal subjects.LabChart's Spirometry extension can be used to derive respiratory parameters based on flow and volume, such as VE, VT, PIF, PEF, FVC, and FEV. Users can select flow units as either μL/s, mL/s or L/s. The Spirometry extension provides users with a range of software presets and environmental variables that will save you the trouble of manual calibration. More about the Spirometry extensionWhat's new in Spirometry v2.5.3? In the Spirometry settings dialog, you now have the ability to set the unit prefix on the experiment to either L, mL or μL, so that units are more meaningful for your application. This is particularly helpful for small animal studies. We have also added a user-definable noise threshold setting that can be used to remove small positive or negative offsets in the flow signal, which can cause unwanted drift in the calculated volume signal. When data falls within the noise window defined by the threshold value, the flow signal is set to zero. How to use the Spirometry extension v2.5.3:To use the Spirometry extension within LabChart, go to the channel where you will sample your flow data: Zero your spirometer Set up your flow channel Set up your volume channelKey features of the Spirometry extension: Option to display respiratory parameters such as minute-volume (VE) and tidal volume (VT) in LabChart channels using your raw flow and volume data Provision of a spirometry report containing calculations for various other respiratory parameters such as: PIF: Peak inspiratory flow PEF: Peak expiratory flow FVC: Forced vital capacity FEV1: Forced expired volume in one second Display of a flow/volume plot and a spirometry data window This extension also applies various corrections

Article01/15/2025 In this article -->This article describes how to add additional storage capacity to a cluster if the underlying hardware RAID supports capacity extension technology.Original KB number: 304736SummaryCapacity extension provides the ability to add additional drives to an existing RAID set and extend the logical drive so that it appears as free space at the end of the same logical drive. You can use the Diskpart.exe command-line utility to extend an existing partition into free space. This process has the following requirements:The additional disk space must appear as free space at the end of the existing drive, and it must be directly behind the existing volume that is to be extended. The extension mustn't rely on software fault tolerance to combine the existing partition and free space. The disk signatures of the existing drive remain the same.Use of the Physical Disk Resource type for the disk. If the disk resource is provided by a third-party manufacturer, you must contact that manufacturer for information about how to increase disk space.More informationImportantIf you add an additional drive to an existing array and the new drive appears as a new logical disk (instead of free space at the end of the existing drive), the hardware doesn't support capacity extension because it refers to the free space as a new drive, and the following procedure won't work. Some storage hardware will, by default, automatically create a new logical disk and volume for the new space despite the fact that the expansion of the existing logical disk is a possible option. When you are using server clusters of Windows Server 2003 or failover clusters of Windows Server 2008 or of Windows Server 2008 R2, software fault tolerance isn't natively supported, and the creation of a spanned volume (Volume Set) isn't a viable option. To add additional space:Create a second physical disk resource.Delete and then re-create the array with the additional disk, and then replace the disk. How to extend an existing drive into free space if the Hardware Supports Capacity ExtensionYou can do an online extension or an offline extension of a data volume. How to do an online extension of a data volumeYou can do an online extension of a cluster data volume in Windows Server 2008 or in Windows Server 2008
