Window screen pull tabs

I called Romac to see about getting a replacement tab and they told me that the entire window screen has to be replaced - you just can't replace a pull tab as it is part of the frame. Is there a way to just replace the pull tabs rather than replace the entire screen? I would have the screens re-screened and at the same time see if new tabs can be installed. You describe are what I think we have in our screens. They are metal and have to be pulled up to use them. When not in use, they cannot be seen. Are those "D rings"? You are a wonderful host of information on this site and I thank you. No I do not think the ones I was suggesting would work, UNLESS there is a slot for the tab on the D ring. I was thinking of attaching the D ring on the surface of the screen. They rescreen and can put new tabs on.
