Move up to the Latitude 10 Mobility Bundle, which includes each of the previously mentioned options as well as 3G connectivity and the price balloons to $849. For the purposes of this review, Dell sent us the Mobility Bundle with an optional 4-cell battery and wireless keyboard and mouse. All total, that setup costs $1,146.VerdictClick to EnlargeWith its amazing battery life, durable soft-touch design, bright display and wide array of optional add-ons, the Windows 8-powered Dell Latitude 10 is a versatile business tablet. Just don't expect a good camera or Ultrabook-like performance. This is more of a PC companion than a full-fledged laptop replacement, though you can certainly get real work done on the go (with the optional pen) and on the big screen (with the dock).Among Windows 8 tablets, the Latitude 10 has some pretty stiff competition. The Surface Pro is a lot faster, but ultimately falls flat because of its short battery life. However, the $679 ThinkPad Tablet 2 gives you a place to store its included pen and an optional mobile keyboard dock, making it a better potential laptop replacement. As such, there's no native way to browse ePub files without looking to third-party software. Our software, Neat Reader, is a great windows ePub reader for Windows 7, 8 and 10, and because it works on Windows computers as well as mobile handsets, you'll be able to use the same software across all your devices, which makes getting caught up on your reading even easier. If you're on either a Mac desktop or laptop, you're actually in luck. Apple Books is the default ePub and eBook reader app for Mac and comes preinstalled, just like with all iOS mobile devices. If you're fully invested in the Apple ecosystem and use Mac laptops, desktops, phones and tablets, this means you already have an ePub reader installed that you can use without having to go find one. That's great if you're an Apple-only user, as reading lists and bookmarks can be shared across devices without much fuss, allowing you to pick up where you left off, no matter what Apple device you're reading from. However, our Mac ePub reader does the same thing, and it gives you true handoff between all Apple devices, including phones, tablets and computers, as well as Windows computers and Android phones and tablets. While Mac handoff sharing can be a boon to those in the Apple ecosystem, all it takes is one device such as an Android phone or tablet, or a Windows computer at work or school, to render all the slick sharing thing moot. Than this one. To be fair, there are many Atom-powered Windows 8 tablets and hybrids that cost around the same or more -- but they don't make the most compelling case, either. The idea of a touch-screen slate running a full Windows operating system that can instantly transform into a working laptop is an appealing one. In practice, the slate part of the W510 is well-built and responsive, and the hinge that connects the two halves is easy to use and secure. But, the keyboard half (which contains an additional battery) is too light, making the entire thing top-heavy and prone to tipping over. Adding to my usability concerns, $750 only gets you a 64GB SSD hard drive (with about half that space free after OS and software overhead), and the tablet half has connections -- Micro-HDMI, microSD, and Micro-USB -- that are only useful if you walk around with a pocketful of adapters. Hybrids such as this need to be priced appropriately (especially ones with Atom processors), and offer great design and usability in order to be a compelling alternative to other computing products in the same price range. As much as the Acer Aspire S7 touch-screen ultrabook was an excellent advertisement for Windows 8, the Iconia W510 feels like an advertisement for the iPad, or any of the $700 to $800 ultrabooks that offer slim, portable computing at a reasonable price. Price as reviewed $749 Processor 1.8GHz Intel Atom Z2760 Memory 2GB, 1,066MHz DDR2 Hard drive 64GB SSD Graphics Intel GMA Operating system Windows 8 Dimensions (WD) 10.2x7.3 inches Height 0.4 inch Screen size (diagonal) 10.1 inches System weight / Weight with AC adapter 2.8 pounds / 3 pounds (screen + keyboard) Category Ultraportable hybrid Design and features There are small differences in color, button placement, and overall visual ID, but Windows 8 hybrid laptop/tablets I've seen from Samsung, HP, Dell, Lenovo, Acer, and others generally look the same. None is particularly streamlined, as all require beefed-up hinge assemblies to keep the screen securely tethered. The screen part of the W510 looks very professional, like a slightly smaller,

Laptop Mag VerdictThe $299 Dell Venue 8 Pro is a versatile and affordable 8-inch Windows tablet for work and play that suffers from one annoying design flaw. Pros+Bright display+Lightweight design+Smooth performance+Preloaded Microsoft OfficeCons-Awkward home button placement-Mixed audio qualityWhy you can trust Laptop MagOur expert reviewers spend hours testing and comparing products and services so you can choose the best for you. Find out more about how we test.Dell's latest line of Venue Pro devices pack the Windows 8.1 experience within a thin and light pair of tablets. The 8-inch Venue 8 Pro is the smaller of the two slates, boasting a bright screen, preloaded Microsoft Office and a build cozy enough to hold with one hand. However, an odd design flaw keeps this device from earning a higher rating.DesignIf you're holding the Venue 8 Pro and wondering where the home button is, you're not alone. While most tablets have a home button at the bottom of the bezel for easy thumb use, the Venue 8 Pro's home key sits on the slate's top right edge, which will certainly take some time getting used to. Who wants to stretch their finger just to return to the Start menu? Not us.Aside from that awful design choice, the Venue 8 Pro has a familiar and comfortable design that isn't too different from the Android-based Venue 7 and 8. Next to the home button is a headphone jack, while volume control, a power button and a microUSB port can all be found at the top of the right edge. The lower right edge of the Venue 8 Pro has a microSD Card slot for extra storage, while a single speaker sits on the bottom edge. When held vertically, the slate's thick black bezel hosts a 1.2-MP front camera and white LED light at the top right. The tablet's black back panel has small ridges for an easy grip; there's a 5-MP camera at the top and a Dell logo in the center. The Venue 8 Pro is also available in red, though we preferred the sleekness of our black model. At 8.5 x 5.11 x 0.35 inches, the Venue 8 Pro is similar in size to the $379 Acer Iconia W3-810 (8.6 x 5.3 x 0.44 inches). We found the slate easy to hold at 13.6 ounces, which is lighter than the Iconia W3-810.DisplayClick to EnlargeThe Venue 8 Pro packs an 8-inch 1280 x 800 display, the same resolution as the Iconia W3-810 but not quite as sharp as competing Android tablets with smaller screens. For instance, both the Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HDX sport 1920 x 1200 full HD panels. The action-packed 1080p trailer for "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" looked crisp on the Venue

These 2-in-1 detachable Surface tablets are available at different price points and specsUpdated on December 19, 2023 The Microsoft Surface family has many members, and it's not always easy to tell each one apart. For example, the Surface 3 and the Surface Pro 3 look identical at a glance but are different devices on the inside. We tested the Surface 3 and Surface Pro 3 to help you decide which fit you better.Production of the Surface 3 and Surface Pro 3 ended in 2016, but these devices can be purchased used or refurbished. Overall Findings Surface 32 GB of memory with an option to upgrade to 4 GB.64 GB of storage with an option to upgrade to 128 GB.10.8-inch display (1920 x 1280).Quad-core Intel Atom x7 processor.Full-size USB 3.0.MicroSD card reader.Mini DisplayPort.Weighs 1.37 pounds.Surface Pro 3Up to 8 GB of memory.Up to 512 GB of storage.12-inch display (2160 x 1440).Intel Core processor up to i7, 1.7 GHz.Full-size USB 3.0.MicroSD card reader.Mini DisplayPort.Weighs 1.76 pounds. Both tablets ship with Windows 8.1 and can be used with a keyboard cover (with backlit keys), a stylus, and other accessories such as a docking station and wireless display adapter. Aside from different sizes, both devices look the same from the outside. That's where the similarities stop. Surface 3 Pros and Cons AdvantagesLess expensive than the Surface Pro 3.Comes with a 1-year subscription to Microsoft 365 Personal and 1 TB of OneDrive storage.Up to 10 hours of battery life.DisadvantagesSurface Pen sold separately.Kickstand only has three positions.Less storage space and processing power than the Surface Pro 3. Surface 3 is the more affordable of the two tablets. It comes with 2 GB of memory and 64 GB of storage, which can be doubled. It has a 10.8-inch display with a 1920 x 1280 resolution. This tablet runs on a Quad-core Intel Atom x7 processor that isn't as powerful as the Intel Core processor on the Surface Pro 3. However, the Surface 3 has a longer battery life (10 hours vs 9 hours). The Surface 3 runs the full version of Windows just like a regular laptop, and it has a full-size USB 3.0 port, a microSD card reader, and a Mini DisplayPort. These features give it several advantages over tablets like the iPad, but it won't replace a regular laptop.
