It's been quite a few years since I've done heavy lifting with DOS commands. Instead using VBscript and lately Powershell instead and it might be available there too come to think of it. Anyway, I'd had completely forgotten the SUBST command. Heck, this was how I used to do it before Windows mapped network drives! (Win95? Win98??) I'll put this in the WIN environmental variables section that gets run during startup, assuming all the DOS commands still work there. If not I'll put in the autoexec.To your other question, yes, some of my other PCs still work (those on our corprorate network) but another PC has been updated to the Anniverary Edition and it is now no longer working too. So I guess it's also true that MS has deprecated this feature.
