Genesis was created on Feburary 19th, 2019 by Revelation. A PVE server, Genesis has a custom, hand-drawn map with tons of unique content, a great skill progression rate, fast action timers, and an active staff that host events weekly. Our players vary from those who are experienced and new to the game, while our staff have been around Wurm Unlimited for thousands of hours of playtime.This map is hosted on a dedicated server with backups every four hours ensuring your data will never be lost. Our playerbase is medium-large with more than enough people to provide a true, MMO experience. Here are some of the features Genesis has to offer:Free deeds and no upkeep, ever.Dynamic Skill Rate: 5x – 2x at level 70. This section will teach you how to keep an eye on each one and replenish them accordingly.Hunger barYou must eat in Wurm, just as we all do everyday in real life. But in Wurm, when you eat, you gain Nutrition as well as replenishing the food meter. As a new player, however, you shouldn't have to worry about eating too much. This is because if your hunger meter hits 7%, you will fast, which will use up a fat layer to boost your hunger meter back up to 80%. You can examine your body to get an idea of how many fat layers you have (generally, new players have 8 layers). See Starvation for more details.Thirst barThe blue thirst meter is one that you should always keep in check. Thirst affects your stamina regeneration, which, in Wurm, is very important. As said before, your stamina affects the speed in which you complete tasks and other actions inside Wurm. Keeping your thirst meter above 80% will also give you the best regeneration.Keeping your thirst meter filled is very simple, so once again, no need to worry. There is plenty of water around Wurm for everyone, and it's never a problem for a friendly neighbor to share some. Keep in mind that most of the Wurm community is very helpful, and will either share their water, or guide you to a location to find some.Stamina/Health barLastly, you have your Stamina bar, which doubles up as your Health bar. This shows how tired your character is. When it hits 0% you will walk slower and complete tasks slower. You will need to stop doing tasks, climbing, moving, etc. for the stamina bar to replenish. Your thirst bar, as said before, will affect the speed of which your Stamina regenerates.If you take damage, it will remove portions of your stamina based on how severe the wounds are, how many wounds you have, and where they are located. This will mean your max stamina will be reduced until you have either been healed by a Priest or have used a Healing Cover (see First Aid for in-depth explanation).Finding a place to start upFinding a place to settle in Wurm can be a somewhat difficult task. On some servers, however, there are villages for new players to stay, such as the Inner City Orphanage on the Independence(Freedom) server. Herein are some instructions on making Steam Client able to run more than one instance without any Multiboxing, killing threads or other messing about, all it needs is one very simple text file, and a new shortcut on your already crowded desktop. Firstly find your Wurm Online folder in your Steam Library, usually in c:\program files(x86)\Steam\Steamapps|common but may be on another drive, depending on how you set it up, long story short, Steam Properties, Local Files should open the folder for you, you should have a couple of folders and an exe file, Make a shortcut to the Exe file on your desktop, since you use that, NOT the shortcut Steam dumped on your desktop for you to launch the game. Next you need to create a text file, so right click in the folder, New text file, rename that to Steam_appid Now Edit that text file and enter the number 1179680 Save the file. Use the NEW shortcut to open Wurm Online and login your main character, now, here's the magic, Use the NEW shortcut to open another instance of Wurm Online, enter another character name, and behold, an Alt, while your Main is still logged in! Dunno whats this thread is about but someone once entertained a thought of raising the Freemium skill caps to 50. (I use this as an example, because my generalizations are rarely understood.) Its sort of amusing. Apart from positive implications for free players, it would also create whole new market for paying players who could tap into newly created market of veterans manufacturing 50-skilled toons; Start off as a 50 skilled weaponsmith, how awesome is that? Or 50 skilled mason, no grind to make stone houses. Etc... in any possible combination, even with tailored skill set purchases. Then new players would find making a silver trough bulk material creation even harder, having veterans utilize armies of dozen or two 50-skilled stonecutting alts turning more shards to bricks in a day than Scar can provide a year (holycr..p!) Applicable to all bulk creations. Only mass-barrier is whether or not the tiny queue sizes or high failure ratio or crappy output quality is an issue. Then again, so what? Things would change, issue amount would remain relatively same. All these half-assembled ideas just go as far, whereas Wurm has people who for years been trough considerations of all kinds. Surely they have crossed paths with silly ideas and it does not hurt to read about silly ideas, no matter how much repetition... but our expectations should remain at zero level no matter how many "Wurm-saving" thoughts we spit out per second. Who knows, sometimes they choose to try out something which has been suggested. Turning premium mechanics in Wurm to purely convenience mechanic is actually the same pattern of thinking behind WU which was demanded by so many, feared by so many. (Just the same same with changing premium mechanics.) The things Devs decide to change, they have to listen to wesserbissers saying how all of "these issues" are because of "that thing you did" without evidence of their actual, practical, real relation. Wurm team was bold enough to create WU and I still applaud them for that. Alot of players cant be happier. Then we have bunch of people drawing hip-shot assumptions that the causalities behind player counts are pivotally revolving around WU. *shrugs* And to "cure" that, they want more of what WU did? *SHRUGS!* But then again, I really do not know what this thread is about, so my thoughts could be just baseless ramblings.
